A pressurized metered dose dispenser () for dispensing an aerosol formulation comprising particles of a medicament suspended in liquefied propellant, optionally in combination with one or more excipients, the dispenser comprising an aerosol container () equipped with a metered dose valve (), where a formulation chamber is defined in part by the internal walls of the container, and wherein the dispenser further comprises a porous, fluid permeable, particulate semi-permeable body () located within the formulation chamber adjacent to the metered dose valve.

A metered dose valve for use in a pressurized metered dose dispenser for dispensing a metered dose of an aerosol formulation comprising particles of a medicament suspended in liquefied propellant, optionally in combination with one or more excipients, the valve comprising a metering chamber and at least one porous, fluid permeable, particulate semi-permeable body, the at least one porous body being positioned within a region of the interior conduit of the valve, for example within the metering chamber, or a pre-metering chamber and/or an internal channel upstream of the metering chamber.

Metered dose valves and dispensers

A rupturable seal comprising a film of a first polymer, a film of a second polymer and a sealing interlayer. The sealing interlayer has a melting point higher than the melting points of either the first polymer or the second polymer and comprises a plurality of micro-fibers each having an average effective fiber diameter from about 2.5 &#x3bc;m to about 7.0 &#x3bc;m. Fusion bonding of films of the first polymer and the second polymer to either side of a sealing interlayer produces a rupturable seal having a frangible interface including portions thereof wherein the first polymer contacts the second polymer. The rupturable seal parts at the frangible interface by application of force causing a gap and separation of the first film from the second film.

There is provided a dispensable package of oil absorbing wipes in the form of a plurality of discrete sheets comprising a consolidated melt-blown web of thermoplastic fibers. The web has an opacity value of about 65 or less when oil free, and changes transparency by at least 30 when loaded with about 6 grams or less of oil per square centimeter. The wipes are contained in a package having at least one access opening allowing a user to grasp a single discrete sheet of wipe material.

A composite article is provided having covalently reactive particles incorporated in a continuous, porous matrix. The reactive particles have surfaces of covalently reactive functional groups capable of directly forming covalent chemical bonds with ligands without need for an intermediate activation step. An adduct composite article is also provided comprising a continuous, porous matrix and derivatized particles dispersed therein. The derivatized particles comprise a direct, covalent reaction product of ligand with the covalently reactive particles. Methods of making and using the composite articles and adduct composite articles are also provided. A solid phase extraction or chromatographic medium comprises a porous nonwoven fibrous matrix comprising at least one of polytetrafluoroethylene and blown microfibers, and sorptive or reactive hydrophobic siliceous molecular sieve particulates enmeshed in said matrix, the ratio of molecular sieves to matrix being in the range of 40:1 to 1:40.

Composite membranes for solid phase extractions and reactions

A fishing lure made of resilient material with a relatively flat vertical body shape, having horizontal wings positioned perpendicular to the body, and weighted so as to glide or plane out in a forward horizontal motion in response to being pulled through water. This gliding motion is achieved from both the up and down motions of normal 'jigging' motion by the user. At least one fishing hook may be attached for catching fish. Additional hooks or lures may also be attached. Continued 'jigging' results in the lure reversing upon itself and following a path beneath user, the path roughly following a daisy-shaped path enabling the user to access fish in a wide-spread area below the user's position.

A sheet article for solid phase extraction or solid phase reaction comprises at least one sorptive polymer pulp, and optionally at least one of sorptive and reactive particulate. The article can be used in a method of separating an analyte from a fluid comprising the step of passing a fluid comprising an analyte through a sheet article comprising poly(p- or m-phenylenephthalamide) pulp, the pulp optionally having incorporated therein solid phase particulates, the sheet article being capable of isolating the analyte from the fluid.

A sheet article for solid phase extraction or solid phase reaction has at least one sorptive polymer pulp at least one of sorptive and reactive particulate. The article can be used in a method of separating an analyte from a fluid by passing a fluid containing an analyte through a sheet article containing poly(p- or m-phenylenephthalamide) pulp and solid phase particles.

A particle loaded, porous, fibrous compressed or fused article comprises a nonwoven fibrous polymeric web, which preferably is thermoplastic, melt-extrudable, and pressure-fusible blown microfibrous web, and sorptive particles enmeshed in said web, the particle loaded fibrous article has a Gurley number of at least two seconds, and the article is useful in separation science. A method of preparation of the article and method of use is also disclosed.
