A CCPP includes a gas turbine, a HRSG, a steam turbine a flash tank and first and second supply lines. The gas turbine, the HRSG and the steam turbine are interconnected to generate power. The gas turbine may include an air preheating system to preheat the air supplied in the gas turbine to enable expedite combustion therein. The flash tank is fluidically connected at a cold end of the HRSG to extract waste hot water from the cold end. Further, the first supply line is configured to interconnect the flash tank and the steam turbine to supply of flash steam to the steam turbine. Furthermore, the second supply line is configured to interconnect the flash tank and the air preheating system to supply hot flash condensate thereto.

Combined cycle power plant with improved efficiency

A preheating system for preheating fluid medium to be fed into the HRSG is disclosed. The system includes a feed line and a recirculation line. The feed line is adapted to feed the fluid medium to a Low Pressure Economizer (LPE) of the HRSG. The feed line is adapted to be adjoined to an inlet of the LPE, and an outlet of the LPE enables therefrom the flow of the fluid medium in further portion of the HRSG. The recirculation line is adapted to be connected between the outlet and the inlet of the LPE, in parallel to LPE to recirculate the fluid medium to the LPE. A particular method of preheating using such a system is equally disclosed.

System and method for fluid medium preheating

The invention refers to a CCPP comprising a gas turbine, a water steam cycle with a steam turbine and a HRSG with at least two pressure levels, and a fuel preheater for preheating the fuel of the gas turbine. The fuel preheater includes a first heat exchanger for preheating the fuel to a first elevated temperature, which is connected to a feed water line from a pressure level of the HRSG, which is below the highest HRSG pressure level, and a second heat exchanger for further preheating the fuel gas to a second elevated temperature, which is connected to the high pressure feed water with the highest pressure level of the HRSG. The disclosure further refers to a method for operating a CCPP with such a fuel preheater.

A power plant system including a fossil fuel fired power plant () for the generation of electricity, a carbon dioxide capture and compression system (), and an external heat cycle system has at least one heat exchanger () for the heating of the flow medium of the external heat cycle system. The heat exchanger () is connected to a heat flow from the COcapture plant () or a COcompression unit (). A return flow from the heat exchanger () is led to the COcapture and compression system () or to the power plant (). The power plant system allows an increase in overall efficiency of the system.
