A motor vehicle glass pane including a sheet of glass and in which in sequence from the side facing the inside of the vehicle in the fitted state includes a plastic-deformable lamination film and an adjoining splinter protection film, and a frame gasket extending around the peripheral edge of the sheet of glass, enclosing its narrow peripheral surfaces as well as an area of the side surfaces close to the peripheral edge on the one hand of the sheet of glass and on the other of the splinter protection film, whereby the lamination film is force-lockingly connected to the frame gasket.

Motor vehicle glass pane

An anti-eavesdropping window structure in which the inner and outer panes, separated by a spacer frame have thickness d and D such that D/d is at least equal to 1.5. The space between the panes is filled with a gas mixture having a density in excess of that of air and a body-sound generator applied directly to the outer pane generates thermal noise over a frequency range of 200 to 3000 Hz to superimpose a level of such noise of at least 20 dB on transmitted sound.

Anti-eavesdropping window structure

A method of deforming a plastic glass sheet from a generally two-dimensional shape into a generally three-dimensional shape at first supports the plastic glass sheet with its two-dimensional upper face juxtaposed underneath the three-dimensional lower face of a vacuum-forming die. The sheet and die are then relatively displaced vertically toward each other so that one portion of the sheet face engages a respective portion of the die face. The two portions are secured together by suction so that the sheet adheres at the one portion of its face to the respective portion of the die face. Finally, the sheet and die are relatively displaced with deformation of the sheet to press the rest of the sheet face and die face together and adhere the faces entirely together by suction. The sheet is supported on a planar conveyor that is rocked about a horizontal axis to engage the faces together. This conveyor and the die can be relatively rocked about a horizontal axis, or even about two transverse horizontal axes.

Method of and apparatus for vacuum shaping a glass sheet

An insulating window structure has an inner glass pane spaced from an outer glass pane by a spacer frame extending around the panes so that the panes define between them, within the frame, a gas-filled space. According to the invention, at least one of the panes is anchored to the frame by a resilient connecting unit having a spring characteristic (restoring force plotted along the ordinate versus displacement plotted along the abscissa) which has a substantially horizontal portion at the center of this characteristic and at which the working point of the resilient unit is provided.

Insulating glass window structure

An insulating window structure with improved sound-damping properties comprises an inner window pane, an outer window pane, a spacing frame holding the two panes apart so that they define a gas space between them, and a membrane-like yieldable member connecting at least one of these panes to the frame. The membrane-like member is in the form of a strip whose bending strength or stiffness is small by comparison with that of the pane to which it is bonded at least over the edge regions of the latter pane and the strip at which the bonding is effected. The strip is dimensioned and composed of a material such that transverse undulations developed at the edges of the pane are not resisted, i.e. the undulations along the edges of the pane are followed by the strip without significant resistance.

Insulating glass unit

A light transmitting panel composed of at least two panes held in spaced relation by a spacer assembly to define at least one space between panes is given improved sound damping properties by employing panes which exhibit at least two different masses per unit surface area, by causing the space between panes to be sealed from the external atmosphere, and by filling this space with a gaseous medium whose composition is such that the velocity of sound propagation therethrough is different from that in dry air at the same pressure and temperature as the medium.

Light transmitting panel

A light transmitting panel composed of at least two panes held in spaced relation by a spacer assembly to define at least one space between panes is given improved sound damping properties by giving such space a thickness of greater than 9mm, by causing the space between panes to be sealed from the external atmosphere, and by filling this space with a gaseous medium composed of air and at least one other gas, the air constituting at least 30%, by volume, of the medium, and whose composition is such that the velocity of sound propagation therethrough differs by at least 5% from that in dry air at the same pressure and temperature as the medium.

Light transmitting panel with sound damping properties

An acoustically and thermally insulated window structure comprising two outer panes and at least one inner pane with an outer spacer interposed between the outer panes and at least one further spacer defining a gap between inner panes when a plurality of the latter are provided. One of the inner panes is spaced at a predetermined relatively small distance from a corresponding outer pane and a body of moisture-absorbent material is disposed in fluid communication with a space within the inner panes.
