A fiber optic distribution terminal includes a cable spool rotatably disposed within an enclosure; an optical power splitter and a termination region carried by the cable spool; an optical cable deployable from the enclosure by rotating the cable spool by pulling on a connectorized end of the optical cable; and splitter pigtails extending between the optical power splitter and the termination region. One fiber of the optical cable extending between the connectorized end and the splitter input. The other fibers of the optical cable extend to a multi-fiber adapter.

Rapid deployment indexing terminal arrangement

An indexed cable arrangement can be installed in a re-enterable housing. The optical fibers of the cable are indexed between a first; ruggedized multi-fiber connector and a second multi-fiber connector. The second multi-fiber connector may be non-ruggedized and disposed within the housing (e.g., at an adapter) or ruggedized and disposed external of the housing (e.g., terminating a stub cable). One or more drop lines are terminated by respective non-ruggedized, single-fiber connectors disposed within the housing. In certain examples, drop lines may be split into multiple connectorized single-fiber outputs.

Indexing cable arrangement and enclosure for use therewith

A flat drop cable has notches or other structures for enhancing the stripability of the jacket from the a core of the flat drop cable. The notches can have an angled configuration with surfaces that converge as the notch extends into the jacket. Inner edges of the notches can be positioned along a tear path that intersects the core of the flat drop cable. For example, the notches can be offset from a minor axis of the flat drop cable a sufficient distance such that the notches are positioned outside a central boundary region that extends tangent to sides of the core and parallel to the minor axis of the flat drop cable.

A dust-proof apparatus for a fiber optic connector has a base; a ferrule receiving sleeve positioned on a mating end of the base; two primary cantilevered arms extending substantially in parallel from the mating end of the base, with the ferrule receiving sleeve being positioned therebetween; and a secondary cantilevered arm extending from the mating end of the base, and having a locking projection receiving hole disposed on a free end.

Dust-proof apparatus and fiber optic connector assembly

A fiber optic splicing assembly is disclosed having an assembly housing and a fiber storing device. The assembly housing has a mounting side and an opposite outer facing side. The fiber storing device is removably mounted to the assembly housing, and is at least partially received in an assembly receiving passageway of a mounting wall.

A system for plugging a fibre optic cable into a fibre optic receptacle includes: a base element having at least one base port, and an adapter unit having at least one adapter, the at least one adapter and the at least one base port being spaced of a predetermined length. The system includes a cable adaptor associated with the fibre optic cable, the cable adaptor including a connector for being plugged into the adapter; an anchoring device for anchoring the fibre optic cable to said base port, and a connector retaining element for receiving the connector and a cable end portion, the connector retaining element defining the predetermined length and removably engaging with the anchoring device. A cable adaptor for a fibre optic cable and a method of installing a fibre optic cable into a fibre optic receptacle, especially into a joint closure, are also described.
