The invention provides a mechanical viewing structure or theater for viewing small screens associated with personal electronic devices. The viewing structure is made of four semi-rigid trapezoid shaped walls joined together to form a hollow trapezoidal viewing structure that optionally is collapsible. The viewing structure has a larger opening that is fitted with a magnifying screen and a smaller opening adapted to be placed above the screen of the personal electronic device and magnify that image for the viewer. The invention also includes a projector that may be releasably attached to the viewing structure to allow an image present on the personal electronic device to be projected onto a remote surface, such as a wall or ceiling.

A magnetic head assembly having a flat surface for disposition adjacent to a recording medium and a protrustion in the range of about 1 to about 20 micro-inches on the flat surface effects coupling of the head assembly to the recording medium and creates a constant contact zone, surrounding the read/write gap of the head assembly, between the head assembly and the record medium. The preferred range for the protrusion is about 6 to about 8 micro-inches and the area of the flat surface is preferably in the range of about 3 to about 4 square millimeters.

A cartridge has a flexible pad which is disposed between a Bernoulli plate and a record disk when the cartridge is inserted into the disk drive. The flexible pad prevents ringing as the record disk is rotated against the Bernoulli plate. The cartridge has a slider which is opened when the cartridge is inserted into the drive to expose the record disk for rotation. This slider has a locking mechanism which can be opened only when the cartridge is properly inserted into the drive.

A core for a magnetic head assembly includes a T-shaped ferrite member having an aperture for the transducing coil and a beveled edge along the top of the T. A ceramic body has a first slot in which the arms of the T-shaped member are positioned and a cross-slot which is deeper than the first slot. The vertical portion of the T-shaped ferrite core is positioned in the cross-slot.

A coupler for a magnetic head includes a flat circumferential surface around the aperture in which the head is mounted and a circumferential orifice surface outside of and adjacent to the flat surface. The orifice surface forms a hydrodynamic orifice for control of flow of air over the flat circumferential surface to couple the magnetic medium to the magnetic head by the Bernoulli effect created by movement of air between the medium and the flat circumferential surface. The coupler protrudes through a flat Bernoulli plate against which the magnetic disk is rotated.
