A tamper-evident security device to be used in conjunction with a slidable closure on a carrier bag comprises a bottom component (positioned within the bag itself) and a top component attached to a front panel of the carrier bag so to be located over the bottom component. The top and bottom components are fixed together in an immovable form, and the top component includes a recess for supporting the slider mechanism of the slidable fastener. A lid component is coupled to the top component via a hinge element, wherein upon closure of the lid component over the top component, the slider mechanism of the fastener is fully enclosed. A provided frangible seal (included to indicate possible attempts to tamper with the closure) is attached to the security device, with an end portion of the top component including a cover tab to hold the frangible seal in place as the carrier bag is handled during transport.

A secure ballot collection system is formed of a removable container that may be positioned within a voting machine and used for collecting paper ballots as they are cast. The container itself is capable of being sealed after removal from the voting machine to ensure the security of the paper ballots. The removable container is placed on a raised floor platform that is also positioned within the interior of the voting machine. The platform provides easy access to the interior of the voting machine from a side opening and allows for the ballot container bag to be located at a height where it is relatively straightforward for an election official to place an 'empty' container bag at the beginning of the voting process, and also remove a 'filled' container bag at some point in time thereafter.

A ballot depository is provided having a baffle which includes a base frame engaging member, a stabilizing member, and a slot obstructing member. In a preferred form, the stabilizing member is supported by at least one of a slot guide, a base frame guide, or a trough, preferably supported by two of the three, and most preferably supported by all three.

A ballot receptacle is provided with frame having an opening through which ballots are deposited into a receptacle and a sliding closure cooperating with the frame to seal the opening. A tamper evident seal is used to lock the closure in a sealed arrangement and thereby secure the ballots in the receptacle.

Luggage that is easy to transport and easy to store is provided with security tags to enable the passenger and terminal security officers to determine the last person to seal the luggage, enabling a passenger to determine if the luggage was searched, and enabling security personal to determine whether the luggage was previously searched.

Collapsible, wheeled security luggage

A high-security brief case book in which a case is integrated with a loose-leaf binder whose loose-leaf sheets are he pages of the book. The case is defined by front and rear covers of flexible material such as leather, whose inner edges are hinged to opposing edges of a flat spine. Mounted on the spine is a holder having a series of rings adapted to engage the loose-leaf sheets. The upper end of the holder is spaced from the corresponding end of the spine to provide a site on which is anchored a key-operated locking mechanism whose keyhole lies in a plane normal to the plane of the flat spine whereby only the keyhole is exposed when the book is closed. The lower end of the holder is spaced from the corresponding end of the spine to provide a site on which is secured the leading end of a slide fastener whose trailing end is adjacent the locking mechanism. When the covers are superposed to close the case, the slider of the fastener is then able to run parallel to the free edges of the covers toward the trailing end of the slide fastener where the slider is then engaged by the clamping jaws of the locking mechanism whereby access to the interior of the case is restricted to those holding a key to the locking mechanism.
