A photopolymerization accelerator composition improving color stability and controlling polymerization shrinkage stress of cured resin and/or the resulting composite paste thereby feature by tertiary twisted biphenyldiamine with the general formula I: R2 and R3 are each independently alkyl having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms; R and R1 are each independently hydrogen or halogen; alkyl, alkoxy, or alkylthio having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms; or phenyl and/or substituted phenyl alkoxy, or alkylthio having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms. It can be used in part with conventional photosensitizers and radically polymerizable monomers.

Photopolymerizable compositions featuring novel amine accelerator for improved color stability and reduced polymerization stress thereby

A photopolymerization accelerator composition improving color stability and controlling polymerization shrinkage stress of cured resin and/or the resulting composite paste thereby feature by tertiary twisted biphenyldiamine with the general formula I: R2 and R3 are each independently alkyl having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms; R and R1 are each independently hydrogen or halogen; alkyl alkoxy, or alkylthio having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms; or phenyl and/or substituted phenyl alkoxy, or alkylthio having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms. It can be used in part with conventional photosensitizers and radically polymerizable monomers.

A dental adhesive composition has an adhesive component and an activator component. The adhesive composition has a volatile organic solvent component, one or more polymerizable (meth)acrylate compounds optionally containing fillers, and a polymerization photoinitiator. The adhesive component may also be a substantially homogeneous mixture of one or more polymerizable (meth)acrylate compounds and an effective amount of a photoinitiator, without a solvent. The activator component includes an aromatic sulfinate salt and an activator component solvent. A method for adhering a restorative to a dental surface includes preparing the surface for restoration; applying a mixture of an adhesive component and an activator component to the prepared cavity, thereby forming a coated cavity surface; and, applying a direct or indirect dental restorative to the coated cavity surface.

A container enclosing an applicator and a dental composition including a volatile organic solvent. The container is sealed. The volatile organic solvent is effectively retained within the container, even after storage at about 43&#xb0; C. for one week. Preferably the container is made of a copolymer of a cycloolefin and an open chain olefin.

A photopolymerizable material is exposed to light to effect curing. A dental composite material includes a hardenable resin matrix and a filler component. The filler component includes (a) a first plurality of preferably glass particles having an average particle size of from about 1 to about 10 micrometers; (b) a second plurality of preferably glass particles having an average particle size of from about 0.1 to about 1 micrometers; and, (c) a plurality of filler particles having an average particle size of from about 0.01 to about 0.04 micrometers. Multi-component mixing storage and dispensing device

The invention provides dental cement compositions and methods of using them for binding hard tooth material, metal and ceramic. The cement compositions include shelf stable complexes of ethylenically unsaturated monomers reacted with cations. The cements have superior adhesion to tooth without separately acid etching dentin or enamel. Compositions of are useful as dental luting cements, liners, pit and fissure seal bases and restoratives.
