In a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI), a pair of flexure arms having moveable contacts disposed thereon are deflected in response to the activation of a solenoid having a moveable core. The core of the solenoid causes a pair of cam actuators which are preferably coupled together by a catcher to rotate. The rotation of the cam actuators causes the deflection of the flexure arms, thereby separating the moveable contacts from the stationary contacts and interrupting the flow of current. The activation of the solenoid is controlled by an electronic module. The electronic module includes a detection circuit which inhibits the solenoid from opening the contacts until there is sufficient electrical energy to insure that the kinetic energy of the solenoid will cause the contacts to latch open. The electromechanical current interrupter and the electronic module are disposed within a housing that can be mounted within a standard electrical receptacle box.

Portable indirect lighting fixture for office partitions or the like

A threaded fastener quick-fastening clip member is adapted to be slidably lockably engaged in a slotted channel adjacent a lug which is formed with an unthreaded borehole communicating the front face of the structure with the channel. A first leg portion of the clip member is inserted in slot means formed in the channel and is provided with generally rigid but resilient detent means for lockable engagement therein. A second leg portion, intersecting the first leg at an obtuse angle, extends into the channel and is formed with an aperture for registering with the borehole and engaging a threaded fastener. A canopy may cover a portion of the slotted channel adjacent the lug for providing stop means to prevent over-excursion of the second leg portion of the clip member. A threaded fastener is fastened in the borehole by initially being manually thrust endwise into the borehole without turning, thereby deflecting the second leg portion and engaging two generally opposed edges of the aperture for ratchet-like insertion. The fastener may thereafter be tightened by turning against the aforesaid edges of the aperture and may be unfastened only by reverse turning of the fastener in conventional manner.

Threaded fastener mounting means

Knockout window means include a knockout port formed primarily in a sidewall of an electrical assembly box and a knock-out panel superposed over the knockout port from the inside of the sidewall. The knockout panel is attached only at its front and back ends to the box, the front end being connected to the inside surface of the sidewall and the back end being connected to the backwall, each by a frangible web which provides doubly accessible panel removal slot means between each end of the knock-out panel and the structure to which each is attached. The panel removal slot means are accessible from both the outside and the inside of the assembly box at each end of the knockout panel, and include four pairs of bearing surfaces against which a wedge-like tool may bear for applying twisting leverage to fracture the webs. Abutment means may be formed on the inside surface of the backwall, and the frangible web thereat may be formed generally continuous with the inside of the backwall to provide panel removal slot means of relatively enlarged depth at back end of the knockout panel. The electrical assembly box, knockout panels and frangible webs may be integrally molded in a unitary structure.
