One variation of a method for registering distance scan data includes: accessing a first distance scan recorded, at a first time, by a first depth sensor defining a first field of view; accessing a second distance scan recorded, at approximately the first time, by a second depth sensor defining a second field of view overlapping a portion of the first field of view; calculating a first set of lines represented by points in a first portion of the first distance scan overlapping a second portion of the second distance scan; calculating a second set of lines represented by points in the second portion of the second distance scan; calculating skew distances between each pair of corresponding lines in the first and second sets of lines; and calculating an alignment transformation that aligns the first distance scan and the second distance scan to minimize skew distances between corresponding pairs of lines.

Systems and methods for perceiving a field around a mobile device include a sensor system has a distance sensor arranged on a mobile device. The sensor system captures distance measurements of a field of view. The distance measurements are captured at a unique set of angular scan positions per revolution of the distance sensor over a sequence of scan rotations. A perception system generates a three-dimensional point cloud representation of the field of view based on the distance measurements for each scan rotation in the sequence of scan rotations. The perception system generates a composite three-dimensional depth map of the field of view by compiling each of the three-dimensional point cloud representations for the sequence of scan rotations. Each of the three-dimensional point cloud representations has a resolution that is lower than a resolution of the composite three-dimensional depth map of the field of view.

A system, method, and computer program product for automatically providing circuit designers with verification coverage information for analog/mixed-signal circuit designs. A graphical user interface based environment allows circuit designers to assemble a schematic representation of a lower-level circuit design from pre-defined building blocks and various types of connections. Embodiments convert the schematic representation into a behavioral model for rapid simulation. Building blocks in the behavioral circuit have coverage-related terms defined either by the designer or by default, such as input and output value ranges, internal state changes, and state timers and timing-related constraints. Embodiments simulate the behavioral circuit, and determine and tangibly output coverage-related information. Manual and automatic behavioral circuit and stimulus modification can maximize coverage for improved behavioral circuit verification. Corresponding improvements to the underlying circuit may result, along with greatly reduced and better focused design and simulation efforts.

Model based analog block coverage system

An electronic design automation (EDA) tool to validate representations of a design is disclosed. Reference and compared representations of the design are intended to respond to stimulus in the same way, but at different levels of abstraction. The reference and compared representations are simulated, at some point, to each generate waveform signals and measured results. Simulation can be with the same tool or different tools. The same or different testbench can be used on the reference and compared representations in the simulation. A design representation validation function compares the two sets of generated waveform signals and compares the two sets of measured results to identify any violations. The measured results and/or waveform signals could be loaded from previous simulations and just validated within the validation tool. Loaded simulations could be for the reference representation with just simulation of the compared representation by the validation tool, or for both with no simulations run by the validation tool. Through an optional design representation validation interface, the violations are identified and are linked to interfaces that detail the violations in greater detail, for example, to aid in debugging why the reference and compared representations are not equivalent.

Model validation cockpit

A method and system for template-based behavioral model creation for behavioral modeling is disclosed. A design characterization and modeling (DCM) tool has a number of templates for different circuits. A designer chooses a template and customizes the template with a number of parameters and optionally pin assignments. The DCM tool generates a behavioral model that has real wire ('Wreal') capability. The transistor level design is simulated with a testbench according to the parameters to generate Wreal calibration information. The behavioral model uses the Wreal calibration information in behavioral modeling to provide quick behavioral processing of the behavioral model with the benefit of increased accuracy provided by the Wreal calibration information, for example. Optionally, the DCM tool generates another testbench that validates the analog and behavioral models.

Template-based real number behavioral modeling

A system and method which allows for burst licensing, particularly for use in a circuit design and analysis system in which designers use tools to assist in characterizing and verifying the circuit. Burst licensing is used to provide licenses on an 'as and when required' basis to allow system users or customers to carry out massive parallelism of the simulation tasks when run from selected tools. When the system receives a request to start a task, the system checks-out a burst license for use in processing the task, and assigns the license to a particular CPU. The task is then performed at that CPU, and once completed the burst license is returned to the license pool.

System and method for providing burst licensing in a circuit simulation environment

A system is herein disclosed which allows for the interactive design and analysis of analog and mixed-signal circuits. Circuits may additionally be characterized and verified without leaving the environment provided by the system. The system may be used to analyze multiple circuit designs at the same time. In this manner a designer can create a test that sweeps over several circuit designs. Embodiments of the invention may be integrated with other circuit design tools and development systems.
