An electrical connection device has an electrical connector and a sealing member. The connector has an insulating housing which has an abutting face. The sealing member is provided to the housing and is adapted to be abutted between the face and a panel of an electronic device. The sealing member has an annular body, two first annular ribs, a plurality of second annular ribs and a plurality of positioning posts. The annular body has first and second surfaces and a plurality of penetrating holes penetrating the first and second surfaces. The first annular ribs respectively protrude from the first and second surfaces, and are adapted to respectively abut the panel and the face. The second annular ribs respectively protrude from the first and second surfaces, encircle the penetrating holes respectively, and are adapted to abut the panel and the face.

Electrical connection device

A plug connector for cooperation with a socket connector () comprises a plug housing () having latch arms () with an end lug () for cooperation with an appropriate groove () in the socket connector (), and being formed with a pair of split cross ribs () forming a gap () therebetween. A CPA member () is provided for locking the connectors () when mated, and comprises a pair of locking legs () and a pair of spring arms (). The spring arms () each has a free end lug () and a nose () which projects inwardly so that, when the CPA member () and the plug connector () are in a pre-locked position, the nose () takes a short distance (d) to a support surface () of the connector housing (), and when there is a load well in excess of the mating a force onto the CPA member () in this condition, the noses () make a stop on the support surface () to keep the CPA member () in the pre-locked position. When there is an excessive force placed on the CPA member, the spring arms () may slip into the gaps () to prevent damaging of the CPA member ().

Plug connector

An electrical connector termination assembly includes a dielectric pin holder. A plurality of elongated terminal pins extend through the pin holder in a pattern of at least two rows of pins with the pins in the respective rows being aligned transversely of the rows. Each of at least some of the terminal pins defining a longitudinal axis and including an arm at a termination end of the pin offset from the longitudinal axis. The arm is bent to define a termination pad extending transversely of the longitudinal axis.

Electrical connector assembly

An electrical connector assembly includes a support structure, with a molded plastic connector housing overmolded about an interface area between the support structure and the connector housing. A compliant layer is deposited between the support structure and the overmolded connector housing over the interface area to fill and seal the interface area when the molded plastic housing cures.

Sealed electrical connector assembly and method of fabricating same

An electrical connector assembly includes a dielectric housing having a mating end, a terminating end and a plurality of terminal-receiving passages extending in a direction between the ends. A termination subassembly is fixed to the terminating end of the housing. The termination subassembly includes a circuit board and a plurality of terminal pins extending through the circuit board and into the terminal-receiving passages in the housing. A plastic pin holder is overmolded about portions of the terminal pins at the terminating end of the housing and about at least a portion of the circuit board.

An electronic device includes a flat flexible dielectric substrate less than 0.050 inch thick and having a generally round hole of a given diameter. A substantially square or polygonal terminal pin is inserted into the round hole in the substrate. The pin has a given cross-dimension between opposite diametral corners thereof greater than the diameter of the round hole. The difference between the cross-dimension of the pin and the diameter of the round hole is on the order of 7% to 67% of the diameter of the hole.

Terminal pins mounted in flexible substrates

An electrical connector assembly includes a first connector having a dielectric housing mounting a plurality of conductive terminals. A second connector includes a grounding housing. A double-sided printed circuit board is sandwiched between the first and second connectors. One side of the board has circuit means connected to the terminals of the first connector. A second side of the board has ground circuit means connected to the grounding housing of the second connector.

Electrical connector assembly incorporating printed circuit board

A filtered electrical connector includes a dielectric housing having an array of terminal-receiving passages and at least one mounting post projecting from the housing outside the array of passages. A plurality of terminals are received in the passages and include a plurality of pin portions projecting from the housing in the same direction as the mounting post. A filter block is fit over the pin portions of the terminals. The filter block includes a plurality of pin-receiving holes through which the pin portions of the terminals extend. A mounting hole in the filter block is closely fit about the mounting post projecting from the housing.

Filtered electrical connector

A system is provided for mounting an electrical connector in a panel having an opening with at least one locating slot in the opening. A connector includes a housing insertable into the opening in the panel. The housing has at least one outwardly projecting locating flange for passing through the locating slot of the opening as the housing is inserted thereinto. The housing has at least one outwardly projecting stop flange spaced axially and transversely from the locating flange for abutting the panel when the housing is in its inserted position. The housing is movable within the opening in the panel to a latched position. A latch arm projects outwardly from the housing on the same side thereof as the locating flange and the stop flange for engagement with a latch slot at the opening in the panel when the housing is in its latched position.

Panel mounting system for electrical connectors

A connector assembly is disclosed for mounting through an aperture in a panel. The assembly includes an adapter mountable in the aperture. A first connector is mountable to the adapter and has limited axial floating movement relative thereto. A second connector is mateable with the first connector with a given mating force. A latch-release mechanism is provided between the first connector and the adapter to latch the first connector against the floating movement and to allow the second connector to be mated with the first connector with the given mating force. The latch-release mechanism is released in response to a force greater than the given mating force to allow the limited floating movement and numerous mating cycles.

Panel mounted connector assembly

An electronic device includes a flat flexible dielectric substrate less than 0.050 inch thick and having a generally round hole of a given diameter. A terminal pin is inserted into the round hole in the substrate. The pin includes at least one end section having a cross dimension less than the diameter of the hole in the substrate and an enlarged contact section adjacent the end section having a cross dimension greater than the diameter of the hole in the substrate adapted to make contact with the substrate. The difference between the cross sectional dimension of the enlarged contact section of the pin and the diameter of the round hole is between 7% and 67% of the diameter of the hole.

A lever type electrical connector assembly includes a first connector having an actuating lever pivotally mounted thereon. The actuating lever includes a cam groove formed therein. A second connector has a cam follower projection to be engaged in the cam groove of the actuating lever. The connectors are mated and unmated in response to rotation of the actuating lever. Complementary interengaging pivot bosses and pivot journals are provided between the actuating lever and the first connector. Separate and independently interengaging pivot bosses and pivot journals are provided on both the inside and the outside of the actuating lever.

Lever type electrical connector

A connector position assurance system is provided for an electrical connector adapted for mating with another mateable connecting device. A connector housing has at least one terminal-receiving passage and including a locking arm adapted for latching with the mateable connecting device. A terminal is positionable in the passage. A terminal position assurance device (TPA) is mountable on the housing. A connector position assurance device (CPA) is, movably mounted on the housing and is operatively associated with the locking arm. The TPA includes a guide structure for guiding movement of the CPA.

Electrical connector position assurance system

A female electrical terminal has a contact end and a terminating end. The contact end includes a pair of opposing walls for receiving a male terminal therebetween. A flexible element is disposed in the contact end for pressing against the male terminal. The flexible element includes a mounting section with spaced wall portions juxtaposed inside the opposing walls of the contact end. Complementary interengaging latches are provided between the opposing walls and the spaced wall portions of the mounting section of the flexible element. An abutment is provided in the contact end to prevent inward collapsing of the spaced wall portions and, thereby, to maintain the latches in interengagement.
