A method and a system for a heat exchanger assembly are provided. The heat exchanger assembly includes one or more arcuate heat exchanger segments each including an inlet header configured to extend circumferentially about a circumference of an inner surface of a fluid flow duct, and an outlet header configured to extend circumferentially about the fluid flow duct. The heat exchanger assembly also includes a first serpentine heat exchanger tube extending between the inlet header and the outlet header and including a series of flow path segments having a gradually changing direction defined by a bend radius of the tube such that a direction of flow through the serpentine heat exchanger tube reverses between the inlet and the outlet headers and a second serpentine heat exchanger tube extending between the inlet header and the outlet header, the second serpentine heat exchanger tube co-planar with the first serpentine heat exchanger tube.

Method and system for radial tubular heat exchangers

A phased array ultrasonic probe assembly includes, in an exemplary embodiment, a housing and a phased array transducer supported inside the housing. The housing includes a first side wall and an opposing second side wall, and a first end wall and an opposing second end wall. The first and second side walls and the first and second end walls define a housing cavity in which the phased array transducer is positioned. The first and second side walls each have an inside surface that include a plurality of projections.

Phased array ultrasonic water wedge apparatus

A method of inspecting a portion of a weld between at least two materials includes mounting at least one ultrasonic phased array probe including at least one transducer having a plurality of elements within a housing containing a liquid therein, attaching the housing adjacent to an outer surface of the portion of the weld such that the liquid is adjacent to the outer surface of the portion of the weld, and scanning the weld with the at least one ultrasonic phased array probe.

Methods and apparatus for detecting cracks in welds

The calibration device includes a guide surface and an angle gauge supported relative to the guide surface on a first side of the guide surface. The angle gauge is adjustable to measure a skew angle of the ultrasonic transducer on the guide surface. The angle gauge is slidable along a length of the guide surface. The angle gauge is rotatably supported parallel to the guide surface. A gauge block rotatably supports the angle gauge.

Phased array ultrasonic reference block

A method of inspecting the H1 weld between the shroud head flange and the upper shroud section utilizing ultrasonic scanning includes the steps of positioning a phased array ultrasonic probe on a top surface of the shroud head flange, emitting an ultrasonic beam from the ultrasonic probe, electronically steering the ultrasonic beam to scan the weld joining the shroud head flange and the upper shroud section with the beam moving from an outer surface of the shroud head flange to an inner surface of the shroud head flange, and acquiring scan data over the length of the scan. The ultrasonic probe is moved circumferentially along the top surface of the shroud head flange in increments of between about 0.05 inch to about 0.5 inch with the H1 weld ultrasonically scanned after each incremental move.
