A contact lens for use in preventing or slowing the development or progression of myopia, and methods of manufacturing and using such a lens. The optic zone of the lens comprises a central region having a curvature providing a base power. The optic zone comprises an annular region circumferentially surrounding the central region. The annular region comprises a treatment zone having a characteristic that reduces the contrast of an image of an object that is formed by light passing through the central region and the treatment zone compared to an image of an object that would be formed by light passing through only the central region. The characteristic that causes the contrast reduction varies with meridian around the annular region. A peripheral zone surrounding the annular region has a constant thickness profile in every meridian or a variation in thickness configured to promote rotation of the lens.

Contact lenses and methods relating thereto

A contact lens for use in preventing or slowing the development or progression of myopia, and methods relating thereto, are described. The lens includes an optic zone comprising a central region having a first optical axis, and a curvature providing a base power, and centred on a centre of curvature that is on the first optical axis. The optic zone comprises an annular region, wherein the annular region surrounds the central region. The annular region comprises at least one maximum add power meridian having a curvature providing a maximum add power, and centred on a centre of curvature that is a first distance from the first optical axis. The annular region comprises at least one intermediate add power meridian, having a curvature providing an intermediate add power of between zero dioptres of add power and the maximum add power, and centred on a centre of curvature that is a different distance from the optical axis than the first distance.

Methods of manufacturing an ophthalmic lens are described. The methods include a step of providing an ophthalmic lens; and a step of providing a photocurable film. The methods use a digital light projections system to photocure at least one region of the film to produce at least one photocured gradient index refractive element. The film is applied to a surface of the lens.

Methods of manufacturing an ophthalmic lens

There is provided a mounting bracket for attaching a light fixture to a light pole, with the light pole having an external surface, an internal surface defining an internal cavity, and a pair of apertures extending from the external surface to the internal surface. The mounting bracket includes an internal support sized and structured to be insertable within the internal cavity of the light pole. The internal support includes a housing and a pair of fasteners moveable relative to the housing and alignable with respective ones of the pair of apertures. An external support is sized and structured to be positionable adjacent the external surface of the light pole, the external support having a pair of slots formed therein and alignable with respective ones of the pair of fasteners. A mount body is slidably engageable with the external support and is pivotally connectable to the light fixture.

Light pole retrofit mounting bracket

A heat dissipating LED light bar which may be used as part of a complete retrofit system for a variety of linear fluorescent light fixtures. The LED light bar comprises an elongate channel member which is preferably fabricated from extruded aluminum. In addition to the channel member, the LED light bar comprises a high-efficacy set of LEDs, which are preferably provided in the form of an elongate LED printed circuit board (PCB) or strip mechanically bonded to the channel member. The channel member is outfitted with fins and other surface features uniquely configured to provide superior heat dissipation, thus allowing the channel member to effectively function as a heat sink for the LED strip cooperatively engaged thereto. Further, the channel member is configured to define an air flow cavity under the LED strip as allows for the effective dissipation of heat during operation of the LED light bar.

A heat dissipating and optically efficient LED high bay light bar which may be used as part of a complete retrofit system for a variety of linear fluorescent light fixtures. The LED high bay light bar comprises an elongate channel member which is preferably fabricated from extruded aluminum. In addition to the channel member, the LED high bay light bar comprises a high-efficacy set of LEDs, which are preferably provided in the form of an elongate LED printed circuit board (PCB) or strip mechanically bonded to the channel member. The channel member is outfitted with fins and other surface features uniquely configured to provide superior heat dissipation, thus allowing the channel member to effectively function as a heat sink for the LED strip cooperatively engaged thereto. The channel member is configured to define an air flow cavity under the LED strip as allows for the effective dissipation of heat during operation of the LED light bar. The channel member also includes a parabolic reflector portion which is itself uniquely configured to provide optimal light emission/distribution characteristics.
