A method in a telecommunications system including a Data Network, DN, a base station, a connection via the base station from the DN to a User Equipment, UE, executing a UE application producing application data, and an algorithm entity on the DN, wherein the base station transmits network configuration information to a DN application executing on the algorithm entity, the DN application produces and transmits a filtering configuration based on the network configuration information to the UE for use in filtering the application data before transmission to the algorithm entity, allowing the UE to produce application data filtered according to the filtering configuration, and the connection transmits the filtered application data to the algorithm entity.

In LTE a measurement configuration message, which instructs a terminal () on when to transmit a measurement report, is per frequency carrier dependent. A measurement object configuration for 5G/NR wireless communication is provided which is independent of carrier frequency, allowing multiple measurement objects to be configured for one particular carrier frequency. Each measurement object can be defined over a particular time duration (T, T, T), frequency range, time/frequency grid, beam, and/or a particular frequency carrier (Layer 1, Layer 2) in order to satisfy various requirements on RRM measurement of NR. Thus, for a particular terminal () and a particular carrier frequency, a base station () can define multiple measurement objects over different time/frequency grids.

A buffer status reporting scheme for a terminal () wishing to transmit data simultaneously in multiple RATs of a wireless communication network, which enables the co-ordination of multiple base stations () of different RATs (e.g. LTE eNB, UMTS base station, WiFi access point, etc.) with the assistance of the terminal () in order to achieve efficient radio resource scheduling for multi-RAT multi-flow aggregation in uplink. A data signal is transmitted in a wireless communication system from a primary station to a secondary station. The data signal comprising a medium access control header (MAC-hs header) and a protocol data unit associated with the medium access control header. An access method of a device () such as an MTC device to a network () which allows the transmission of small data packets without the need to read all the System Information normally required to make an initial network access. The device () may notify the network that an access request is occurring from a device that was either specifically allowed to use a stored access configuration or is accessing the cell using modified system information being broadcast by the cell. The first change flag value may represent an absence of a change to the content of the SIB block associated with the first change flag. A method is provided for managing a wireless network traffic by comprising designating a first resource block of a first base station for access by a random access channel (RACH). The method additionally comprises designating a first plurality of random access subframes associated with the first resource block for access by a user-over-control plane message, and receiving a random access signal at the first base station over a subframe from an endpoint. The random access signal is received on the RACH using a wireless network and is attempting to access one of the first plurality of designated random access subframes.
