A folding light tower is provided that utilizes a 4-bar linkage mechanism which enables full vertical extension of the tower with the use of one actuator. The exemplary tower generally includes a base, a lower lift arm, and an upper lift arm. Spring elements are used near the rotating joints of the lower lift arm and upper lift arm of the tower. The spring elements act to preload the joints and help to remove play and movement when the tower is unfolded/during the vertical extension process.

A telescoping mast having a latch assembly includes a latch body mountable to a first tube section, a latch mechanism supported by the latch body, a toggle mechanism operatively connected to the latch mechanism, and a latch plate mountable to a second tube section. The latch mechanism includes a pawl member pivotably between an engaged position for interlocking with a corresponding recess in the latch plate to thereby restrict axial movement between the first and second tube sections, and a disengaged position allowing relative axial movement between the first and second tube sections. The toggle mechanism is movable between an over-center locked configuration corresponding to the engaged position of the latch mechanism and an unlocked configuration corresponding to the disengaged position of the latch member.

A telescoping mast assembly having a mast axis and comprising a plurality of telescoping mast sections having axially opposite ends and being axially slidable relative to one another along the mast axis between retracted and extended positions, the telescoping mast sections including a base tube adapted to be fixed to a support surface and an innermost telescoping section, and wherein the innermost telescoping section supports a cylindrical nest lock platform assembly adapted to cover an axial end of the base tube when the mast assembly is in the retracted position, wherein each telescoping mast section includes an internal collar and a cylindrical body and the nest lock platform assembly includes a payload platform and one or more wedges that mate with corresponding notches in the internal collar.

Pneumatic non-locking low-profile telescoping masts

A mast assembly including a locking actuator for locking a cradle of the mast in position. The locking actuator includes a housing having a first lock pin extending in a first direction and a movable member supported by the housing having a second lock pin extending in a second direction opposite the first, the locking actuator being slideably mounted to the cradle for sliding movement along an axis parallel to an axis of extension/retraction of the locking actuator. When the locking actuator is extended the first and second lock pins are inserted into respective lock holes in a base member thereby locking the cradle against pivoting movement relative to the base member.

Sliding locking actuator for automatic tilt mechanism

A rigid support bearing for a rotating shaft has bearings arranged concentrically around the shaft instead of spaced axially and is used in a screw drive telescoping mast assembly. An axial drive screw is centrally located in the mast assembly for extending and retracting the tubular sections. A lower bearing assembly supports the drive screw and uses the concentric bearing arrangement to reduce the nested height of the mast.

Support bearing assembly

A telescoping mast has a plurality of elongate tubular sections which are telescopically attached to each other and an axial drive screw centrally located in the mast for extending and retracting the elongate tubular section. A gear assembly is connected to the drive screw for rotating the drive screw. A nut carrier assembly is secured to tubular sections. Each nut carrier assembly has a threaded nut housed within a nut carrier. The threaded nut engages corresponding threads on the drive screw. A locking mechanism is provided for locking the gear assembly which has a first section surrounding a second section secured to the gear assembly. The second section has an elongated member extending from a surface of the second section. The first section has at least one slot for engaging the elongated member, thereby preventing rotation of the gear assembly.

Heavy Duty field mast

A pneumatically actuated telescoping mast assembly has a mast axis and comprises a plurality of telescopically interengaged mast tubes having axially opposite ends and being axially slidable relative to one another along the mast axis between retracted and extended positions. Axially adjacent mast tubes include a stop collar held on one of the ends of each tube by a snap ring. The radially inner mast tube, of two adjacent mast tubes, includes a double wrap snap ring thereon for engaging the stop collar on the radially outer mast tube to limit relative axial displacement therebetween. The radially inner mast tube further includes a guide collar with a gasket slidably engaging the inner side of the radially outer mast tube. The mast assembly also includes an internal support collar for displacing and supporting the internal wiring used to supply power to the top of the mast assembly.

Pneumatic telescoping mast

A fire resistant modular building adapted to house flammable and/or toxic materials is prefabricated of a box-like structure with exterior walls and a roof and partitions of stacked sheets of gypsum board with a skin of sheet metal secured thereto to define the interior walls and ceiling of the building.
