A power tool is provided comprising: a motor, an output shaft driven by the motor along a longitudinal axis, a fan rotationally coupled to the motor to generate an airflow, and a housing comprising two calm shells mated together to support the motor and forming a back wall behind the motor along the longitudinal axis. The rear wall includes a plurality of air intakes. An end cap is attached to the housing adjacent the rear wall with an air gap therebetween. The airflow generated by the fan enters through the air gap in a substantially radial direction, then passes through the plurality of air intakes to enter the housing in thermal contact with the motor.

Power tool

A lawn mower includes a frame, an operator support, a blade assembly, a steering system, a motor assembly, a sensor and one or more processors. The operator support is coupled to the frame and is configured to support the entire weight of an operator of the lawn mower during use thereof. The motor assembly is configured to drive rotatable wheels so as to move the frame along the ground surface and drive at least one blade relative to the ground surface to cut grass. Sensor and processor to detect the an edge between an unmowed area of grass and a mowed area of grass and control the motor assembly stop driving the at least one blade, the wheels, or both based on the input from the sensor.

Riding mower edge detection system

A motor assembly is provided including a stator and a rotor. The stator includes a stator main body defining a longitudinal axis, stator teeth projecting radially from the stator main body, stator windings wound around the stator teeth, and two winding terminals provided for each stator tooth extending away from the stator main body substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. A circuit board is oriented along a radial plane adjacent the stator. The circuit board includes a central through-hole through which a rotor shaft extends, at least one magnetic sensor mounted on a surface of the circuit board around the central through-hole configured to magnetically interface with the rotor, peripheral openings arranged to receive the winding terminals of the stator, and conductive routings extending from the peripheral openings to connect the stator windings in a series or a parallel configuration and/or a wye or a delta configuration.

A motor assembly is provided with a stator including a lamination stack forming a stator core, stator teeth inwardly projecting from the stator core, and stator windings wound around the stator teeth in connected in phases. A rotor is rotatably disposed within the stator with a shaft, a rotor lamination stack mounted on the shaft, and at least one bearing mounted on the shaft. An external heat sink is provided including a main body defining a hollow opening form-fittingly receiving the stator therein in thermal communication with the stator. A bearing support structure is provided having a main body radially arranged and secured the main body of the external heat sink, the bearing support structure forming a central bearing pocket arranged to receive and support the bearing of the rotor therein to axially and radially support the rotor with respect to the heat sink.

A lawn mower comprising a frame supported on rotatable wheels for movement over a ground surface; an operator support coupled to the frame and configured to support the entire weight of an operator of the lawn mower during use thereof; a blade assembly comprising one or more blades that are configured to cut grass on the ground surface; a steering system configured to manipulate the steering direction of the wheels; a motor assembly configured to: drive the wheels so as to move the frame along the ground surface; and a first rechargeable battery module removably coupled to the frame and configured to power the motor assembly.
