A neuromodulation system includes a conductive element, a magnetic field generator, a power module and a computer processor. The conductive element located internal a patient's body. At least a portion of the conductive element is positioned adjacent to a target tissue. The magnetic field generator is positioned external to the patient's body. The magnetic field generator generates a time varying magnetic field for inducing stimulation of the target tissue in combination with the conductive element to produce stimulation that is larger than that which would occur in the absence of the conductive element. The power module supplies power to the magnetic field generator. The computer processor controls the time varying magnetic field provided by the magnetic field generator according to at least one set of stimulation parameters.

Treatment of overactive bladder with phase-contingent pudendal nerve stimulation

Gamification for a pelvic disorder regimen has a processor for operating a control module configured to define a programmable treatment regimen. A neurostimulator is connected to the processor and the control module. The neurostimulator applies electrical or magnetic signals to the user according to the programmable treatment regimen which includes at least one treatment task to be performed by the user. A gramification module calculates and stores a set of scores of the user in performing at least one task defined in the programmable treatment program associated with one or more events defined in the programmable treatment program to provide a score assigned to each task performance. A user interface is connected to the control module and provides the user with information associated with the scores attained by the user.

System for improving neurostimulation treatment compliance with gamification

A method of treating a patient having overactive bladder symptoms by a combination of stimulation of the patient's saphenous nerve and the patient's posterior tibial nerve. The method uses a neurostimulator having a computer processor and a signal generator which generates a first stimulation signal which is used to target the patient's saphenous nerve and a second stimulation signal which is used to target the posterior tibial nerve of the patient in accordance with a treatment protocol. The neurostimulator sends the first and second electrical stimulation signals to respective stimulators which then transmit the respective electrical stimulation signals to the patient's saphenous nerve and the patient's posterior tibial nerve in accordance with the stimulation protocol. The first and second stimulators are positioned in locations on the body of the patient to effectively modulate the patient's saphenous nerve and posterior tibial nerve respectively.

Electrical neurostimulation treatment of overactive bladder

Systems and methods provide stimulation of peripheral targets such as targets in the lower limbs. Electrode arrays realized in circumferential or longitudinal embodiments have pads with horizontal and/or vertical offsets. Electrode array geometries are customizable and adaptable to individual users and treatment of different disorders. Novel systems of customization include software and hardware implemented solutions. A single device can provide treatment of two or more disorders or unwanted states using selected electrode geometries and stimulation protocols. Systems and methods for assessment of candidate stimulation sites and protocols use subjective or objective measures or both to determine which meet stimulation success criteria. Simulation is provided using transcutaneous, percutaneous, or implantable stimulators. A main advantage is the improved treatment of pelvic floor disorders, and especially overactive bladder (OAB).

Systems and methods for deterring transcutaneous stimulation array malfunction

Systems and methods for providing curated neurostimulation are disclosed such that users are enabled to provide improved therapy in a home environment. Stimulation protocols can be assessed to provide improved targeted stimulation of a nerve and less unwanted side effects. Sets of stimulation montages and associated weights are defined and are selected or adjusted in pre-defined using pre-defined operations that simplify adjustment of characteristics of the stimulation field such as the geometry and location of the provided stimulation. Stimulation matrix pads are arranged and activated to provide advantages. Strategies for adjusting the intensity of the stimulation field incorporate weighting values in non-primary channels and are disclosed. Curated neurostimulation can also include providing defined schedules for events and activities related to the therapy such as providing schedules for stimulation treatment, surveying a user, providing education and remote user support. Features related to decreasing and managing risk of skin events are included as part of the therapy. Both wearable and implanted embodiments are disclosed.

A method to treat a patient having a pelvic floor dysfunction by establishing a neurostimulator having a processor and a signal generator to generate a stimulation signal. The processor is set to one or more parameters effective in the treating of the patient's pelvic dysfunction when the stimulation signal is applied to a saphenous nerve of the patient. The neurostimulator is configured to provide the stimulation signal to a stimulator in accordance with a stimulation protocol. At least one stimulator is positioned next to a portion of the saphenous nerve of at least one lower limb of a patient. The processor is operationally activated to provide the stimulation signal to the stimulator for treatment of the patient.

Method for treating a patient having a pelvic floor dysfunction

Methods and systems for improving nerve stimulation are disclosed which relate to shaping characteristics of the stimulation field such as by using different geometries and locations of stimulation. In embodiments, systems and methods are provided to improve selective modulation of specific targeted neural substrate, while minimizing the activation of adjacent non-targeted nervous tissue. While aspects of the disclosed technologies can be applied to any part of the central and peripheral nervous systems for treatment various disorders and providing symptom relief to provide for therapy related to pelvic floor disorders such as overactive bladder.

Treatment of pelvic floor disorders using targeted lower limb nerve stimulation

A neurostimulation system is disclosed for providing treatment to a patient during a therapy session. The neurostimulation system includes a neurostimulator for transmitting magnetic or electrical signals based upon a treatment program. A programmer is connected to the neurostimulator to set a treatment session parameter value to calculate a therapy compliance value. A compliance module is connected to the neurostimulator and the programmer to calculate and store a therapy compliance value. A control module is connected to the compliance module, the programmer and the neurostimulator and determines whether the therapy compliance value is within a range of the treatment program. The neurostimulator transmits electrical or magnetic signals to the patient in a treatment session only if the therapy compliance value meets a compliance criteria.

Systems, methods and kits for peripheral nerve stimulation

Improved systems are disclosed for providing advantages during stimulation of peripheral nerves using transcutaneous, percutaneous, and implantable stimulators. Percutaneous stimulation is improved by accessories that guide the angel and depth of injection to allow for easy and controlled needle injection. Transcutaneous stimulation is improved using pressure to improve nerve recruitment. Systems and methods are disclosed for providing nerve stimulation of a patient to treat medical disorders and conditions within a single user or multiple user environments such as assisted living centers.

Percutaneous and transcutaneous peripheral neuromodulation

Nerve stimulation systems and methods are disclosed for providing improved compliance of a patient to a pelvic disorder treatment regimen. A patient interface module is connected to a control module for providing compliance information related to compliance criteria for a set of scheduled events. Patient compliance is assessed and notification or treatment events can be scheduled, rescheduled or otherwise adjusted based upon patient compliance or non-compliance according to compliance rules and parameters of a treatment compliance module. Both compliance and non-compliance may lead to adjustment of the treatment regimen, scheduled treatment events, and notifications to the patient or user operating the nerve stimulation system.

Systems for improving neurostimulation compliance using a patient interface module

Systems and methods provide notification to a user about pending neurostimulation or ongoing neurostimulation using a variety of notification signals and obtaining a user response to the notification using a variety of methods by which the user response is provided. Systems using implanted neurostimulation devices, external neurostimulators which provide transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, or both provide responsive and scheduled therapy regimens that include ecosystem support for augmenting user compliance when treating symptoms, conditions, or disorders. The system is also to assist the user through assessment protocols for improved customization of stimulus regimen attributes such as stimulation protocol parameter values, electrode montages, user surveying, and compliance contingent operations.

Systems and methods for providing patient signaling and contingent stimulation

Nerve stimulation systems and methods are disclosed for providing improved compliance of a patient to a therapy regimen. Patient compliance is assessed and notification or treatment events can be scheduled, rescheduled or otherwise adjusted based upon patient compliance or non-compliance according to compliance rules and parameters of a treatment compliance module. Both compliance and non-compliance may lead to adjustment of the treatment regimen, scheduled treatment events, and notifications. Gamification of the treatment regimen allows users to obtain points that may be used to receive virtual awards, status awards, or monetary compensation of various forms. Monitoring of usage and compliance can be managed both locally and remotely from the user. Stimulation treatment, compliance monitoring, and gamification is disclosed for treatments using external or implanted stimulators, or the combination.
