Enabling secure handover of information between users

A method for an automatic or semi-automatic detection whether an MR examination of a person () is approved with a predetermined MR system () includes the following steps: Step: providing information whether and which contra-indication for such an MR examination is present for this person () (S); Step: providing information about a location of a cause () of the contra-indication within the person () (S); Step: determining a position of this cause () during the MR examination of the person with respect to at least one magnetic field coil () (S); Step: determining at least one characteristic parameter of the magnetic field generated by the coil () at the position of the cause () during the MR examination (S); and Step: automatically checking whether the MR examination is approved for the combination of the determined cause () of the contra-indication and the determined characteristic parameter of the magnetic field at the location of the cause () (S).

Method and safety module for an automatic or semi-automatic detection whether an MR examination of a person is approved with a predetermined MR system

A magnetic resonance examination system is provided with a graphical user interface and an (software) analysis module. The analysis module is configured to analyze examination information, notably a selected examination protocol, for actions to be taken by the operator, such as connecting auxiliary equipment or radio frequency receiver coils to the magnetic resonance examination system. The analysis module supplies the actions to be taken to the (graphical) user interface at the proper instant before or during carrying-out the examination protocol. In this way the operator is guided and supported in the performance of the selected examination protocol. This improves the efficiency of workflow in performing one or more selected protocols. Preferably, the graphical user interface is provided inside the examination room and may be mounted on the gantry.

Magnetic resonance examination system with a user interface

A system () is provided for processing an alert signal of a medical device associated with a patient. The alert signal comprises medical information () representing an alert generated by the medical device to alert a healthcare professional to a state of the patient and/or the medical device. The system obtains the alert signal () of the medical device (). The system comprises an interpretation subsystem () which accesses an interpretation database (). Using the interpretation database (), the interpretation subsystem () generates an interpreted version () of the alert by using the interpretation data () to interpret the medical information. This interpreted version of the alert provides an explanation of the alert in a manner suitable for a non-professional caretaker of the patient. The system then generates an output signal () comprising said interpreted version for a mobile device to enable communicating the interpreted version of the medical information to the non-professional caretaker via the mobile device (). As such, the non-professional caretaker is provided with information he/she can understand.

Processing an alert signal of a medical device

A system () is provided for processing status information of a medical device (-). The medical device performs a medical function at a bedside of a patient and is arranged for generating an alarm signal () to alert a caregiver of the patient to an occurrence of an event which is associated with the performing of the medical function. A status interface () acquires a device signal () of the medical device, the device signal comprising status information which is indicative of a current status of the performing of the medical function. Moreover, an analysis subsystem () analyzes the status information to estimate an imminent occurrence of the event based on said current status, and a notification subsystem notifies the caregiver of the imminent occurrence away from the bedside of the patient of the event by a generating a notification signal () for a notification device (-). The priority of notifying the caregiver is based on an estimate of whether the patient is asleep. The system enables the caregiver to be notified about the event ahead of time, i.e., before the event occurs and thus before the medical device generates an alarm signal. Advantageously, the patient is less disturbed by alarm signals during sleep.

A system is provided for controling access to a resource, the access being restricted by an access mechanism. The system comprises an access control subsystem for i) subjecting the user to one or more security measures based on use of a security input system, and ii) signaling the access mechanism to grant the user access to the resource based on the user passing the one or more security measures. The system further comprises a task interlace for accessing task data, the task data being indicative of a scheduled task of the user. The access control subsystem is further arranged for determining the one or more security measures based on the scheduled task to establish different levels of security depending on the task. Advantageously, a better adjusting of the level of security is obtained in that it is dynamically adjusted to the scheduled task of the user.
