System and methods of optimizing proppant placement for stimulation treatments are provided. Properties of a reservoir formation and a treatment fluid to be injected into the formation are determined for a multistage stimulation treatment to be performed along a wellbore drilled within the formation. A proppant transport model uses the properties to determine a proppant profile for a fractured area of the formation for each treatment stage along the wellbore. A proppant pack conductivity for each stage is determined based on a proppant conductivity model and the proppant profile for that stage. A rate of hydrocarbon production expected from the wellbore is estimated based on a well production model and the proppant pack conductivity. A distribution of proppant to be injected into the formation during the treatment is determined, based on the production rate and one or more constraints. The stimulation treatment is performed based on the determined proppant distribution.

Optimizing proppant placement for fracturing operations

Methods for preparing and using invert emulsions and treatment fluids including the invert emulsions are provided herein. In one or more embodiments, the methods of the present disclosure comprise providing an aqueous fluid comprising water and one or more water-soluble monomers; providing an oil-based fluid comprising a solvent and one or more polymerization surfactants, wherein the solvent comprises a linear or branched dibasic ester; combining the aqueous fluid and the oil-based fluid to form an invert emulsion that comprises an aqueous phase comprising the aqueous fluid and an oil phase comprising the oil-based fluid; and polymerizing at least a portion of the one or more water-soluble monomers in the invert emulsion.

Methods for preparing invert emulsions using dibasic ester solvents

Treatment fluids and associated methods and systems for demulsifying an emulsified well fluid. An example method includes contacting the emulsified well fluid with a treatment fluid comprising: an aqueous base fluid; an alcohol; a resin alkoxylated oligomer; a polyol; and a polyamine polyether. The emulsified well fluid is separated into an aqueous phase and an oleaginous phase after contact with the treatment fluid.

Treatment fluids for demulsifying production fluids

Emulsion or microemulsion for treating an oil or gas well having a wellbore are provided, and related methods. In some embodiments, the emulsion or microemulsion comprises an aqueous phase; a surfactant; and a non-aqueous phase comprising a first type of solvent and a second type of solvent. In some embodiments, the first type of solvent is a long chain hydrocarbon. In some embodiments, the second type of solvent is an oxygenated solvent. The emulsion or microemulsion may comprise additional components (e.g., at least one type of co-solvent).

Methods and compositions for stimulating the production of hydrocarbons from subterranean formations

Systems and methods for treating subterranean formations for treating subterranean formations using propellant fracturing and hydraulic fracturing to detonate and inject in sequential stages. A method comprises disposing a propellant fracturing tool downhole into a well bore; introducing a fracturing fluid into a work string coupled to the fluid conduit to pressurize and set an upper packer and a lower packer against the well bore; detonating sequentially a plurality of propellant band stages to produce one or more fractures; introducing sequentially a series of treatment fluids into a well bore penetrating at least a portion of a subterranean formation, wherein the sequential introduction of the series of treatment fluids occurs between the sequential detonation of the plurality of propellant band stages; and depositing at least a portion of the treatment fluids in at least a portion of the subterranean formation.

Methods for enhancing and maintaining effective permeability of induced fractures

Methods and compositions comprising an emulsion or a microemulsion for use in various aspects of the life cycle of an oil and/or gas well are provided. In some embodiments, the emulsion or the microemulsion comprises an aqueous phase, a non-aqueous phase comprising a terpene alcohol a non-oxygenated terpene, and a surfactant, and optionally, one or more additives.
