A system provides the ability to import large engineering 3D models from a primary 3D rendering software into a secondary 3D rendering software that does not have the tools of the resources to render the larger 3D model on its own. The system uses a plugin to combine 3D data from the two software sources, and then return the combined 3D data to the secondary 3D rendering software. Components of the system can be remote or cloud based, and the system facilitates video streaming of 3D rendered models that can be manipulated on any computer capable of supporting a video stream.

Integration of 3rd party geometry for visualization of large data sets system and method

The disclosure is directed to systems and methods for local rendering of 3D models which are then accessed by remote computers. The advantage of the system is that extensive hardware needed for rendering complex 3D models is centralized and can be accessed by smaller remote computers without and special hardware or software installation. The system also provides enhanced security as model data can be restricted to a limited number of servers instead of stored on individual computers.

Visualization and interaction of 3D models via remotely rendered video stream system and method

An assembly () comprises a vibration transducer () coupled to a substrate () which incorporates a circuit () electrically connected to the transducer (). The substrate () is adapted to be coupled to a bending wave member () for converting actuator vibration into acoustic radiation or vice versa and has sufficient flexibility to allow bending wave coupling between the substrate () and the member ().

From one aspect, the invention is a method of making a bending wave panel loudspeaker, comprising rigidly coupling a lever to a panel edge or marginal portion such that the lever extends at an angle to the plane of the panel, coupling a bending wave exciter to the lever whereby bending wave energy is coupled to the panel to produce an acoustic output when the exciter is fed with a signal and supporting the panel on a suspension positioned outboard of the lever. From another aspect the invention is a bending wave panel-form loudspeaker having a lever rigidly coupled to a marginal portion or edge of the panel, a vibration exciter coupled to the lever to apply bending wave energy to the panel to produce an acoustic output and a panel suspension positioned outboard of the lever. From a further aspect, the invention is a small electronic device, e.g. a mobile telephone or PDA, having a display screen, and a transparent protective cover over the display screen, wherein the transparent protective cover is a loudspeaker as described above.

Bending wave panel loudspeaker

A bending wave loudspeaker having an operating frequency range and a coincidence frequency which is above the operating frequency range, comprising a resonant panel having two generally orthogonal axes, vibration exciting means coupled to the panel to excite the panel into resonance along the one axis of the panel, and means restraining or preventing resonance along the other axis of the panel whereby the panel radiates an acoustic output which is of wide directivity along the one axis and of narrow directivity along the other axis of the panel.

A loudspeaker includes a box-form structure made from stiff lightweight sheet material to define a plurality of faces, at least one face of the structure forming a panel-form bending wave acoustic radiator, and an electro-acoustic vibration transducer coupled thereto to apply bending wave energy to the radiator to cause it to radiate an acoustic output when an input signal is applied to the transducer. The box-form structure is collapsible, so that the box-form structure can be stored and transported in a flat form and erected as a box when required as a loudspeaker.

Loudspeaker

A loudspeaker includes an assembly of at least two bending wave panel-form acoustic members each having a set of modes which are distributed in frequency. The parameters of at least two of the acoustic members are selected so that the modal distributions of each acoustic member are substantially different. The arrangement is such that the modal distributions of the assembly of acoustic members are interleaved constructively in frequency. A transducer applies bending wave energy to the acoustic members to cause them to resonate to produce an acoustic output. A method of making such a loudspeaker is also provided.
