An additive applicator system allows for a substance such as salt, flavor enhancement or similar things. The additive is placed in a carrier that is shaped to sit in the top ring of a common aluminum can. The carrier has an opening or spout that allows for the additive to be transferred to the interior of the can.

Methods and systems for processing signals are provided and may include removing a DC component from a signal envelope comprising a combined signal within a range of allocated FM channels to generate a modified signal envelope. Fluctuation in power in the signal envelope may be detected based on a ratio of a magnitude of the signal envelope and a magnitude of the modified signal envelope. The removing may further include low-pass filtering the signal envelope to generate a low-pass filtered signal envelope. A square values of the low-pass filtered signal envelope may be determined to generate a squared signal envelope. The squared signal envelope may be high-pass filtered to generate a high-pass filtered signal envelope. The fluctuation in power in the signal envelope may be detected based on a ratio of a magnitude of the high-pass filtered signal envelope and a magnitude of the low-pass filtered signal envelope.

The PTU may support digital and analog interfaces. A processor in the processor system may time-multiplex processing of FM data and processing of Bluetooth data. The single chip may operate in an FM-only, a Bluetooth-only, and an FM-Bluetooth mode. The single chip may reduce power consumption by disabling portions of the Bluetooth radio during FM-only mode and/or disabling analog circuitry when performing digital processing. Aspects of a method and system for closed loop power control in wireless systems are provided. In this regard, an output power of an amplifier may be measured and an indication of the measured power may be compared to a reference signal. The results of the comparison are utilized to generate an error correction factor. The gain of a preamplifier may be adjusted utilizing the error correction factor, where the output of the preamplifier may be input to the amplifier. The error correction factor may be generated via a proportional integral derivative controller. The gain of the preamplifier may be adjusted via at least one control signal, where the at least one control signal may be generated based on a reference control word and the error correction factor. The indication of the measured power and the reference signal may be time aligned.

Method and system for closed loop power control in wireless systems

Methods and systems for processing an RF signal are disclosed herein. Aspects of the method may comprise utilizing a single input CORDIC and a single output CORDIC for synchronizing and demodulating a received signal, wherein the received signal may comprise one or more bit rates. The received signal may comprise a one megabit per second (Mbps) signal. The single input CORDIC may be configured to operate in a rotating mode and the single output CORDIC may be configured to operate in a rotating mode and/or an arctangent (ARCTAN) mode. A rotated output of the single input CORDIC may be correlated with a phase shift keying (PSK) synchronization (sync) word and a portion of the correlated rotated output of the single input CORDIC may be buffered.

Classifier for communication device. A communication device includes a classifier and a number of PHY (physical layer) receivers communicatively coupled thereto that enable the communication device to process various received signal types. Each of the PHY receivers is operable to perform pre-processing of a received frame (or packet) of data and to calculate a confidence level indicating whether the received frame is intended for that particular PHY receiver; this pre-processing does not involve processing (e.g., demodulation and/or decoding) of the received frame. Those PHY receivers having sufficiently high confidence levels assert claims to the classifier for the received frame. The classifier is operable to arbitrate between competing claims by 2 or more PHY receivers and to ensure that the received frame is provided to the PHY receiver for which it is intended.

An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) disposed in a data reception path to convert data from an analog format to a digital format is switched between two or more power modes to conserve power when data is not being received. ADC stays in a lower power-lower precision mode until an inbound data is detected, at which time the ADC switches to a higher power-higher precision mode to convert the data. Once data conversion is completed, the ADC switches back to the lower power-lower precision mode to conserve power.

A radio frequency (RF) transmitter includes a digital radio processor and a baseband processor. A complex analog-to-digital converter (ADC) within the radio processor provides an analog interface to the baseband processor to receive an analog complex modulated baseband signal and convert the analog complex modulated baseband signal to a digital complex modulated baseband signal. A demodulator within the radio processor demodulates the digital complex modulated baseband signal to recreate the original transmit digital data as a demodulated digital signal. The demodulated digital signal is processed by a digital processor in the radio processor to mitigate the effects of various imperfections in the radio processor circuitry.

Methods and apparatus for calibrating a transitional loop, such as a phase locked loop, are disclosed. An example method includes performing an open loop calibration of a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). The open loop calibration includes tuning the output oscillation frequency of the VCO to within a predetermined range of frequencies. The example method further includes determining a voltage offset and a gain error of an analog to digital converter (ADC) coupled with the phase locked loop. The example method also includes determining a gain offset of the open loop calibrated VCO using the voltage offset and the gain error of the ADC. In the example method, a signal provided by a charge pump of the PLL is adjusted based on the determined gain offset.
