Apparatus, such as a respiratory therapy device, may generate a signal representing an estimate of a patient breathing pattern when using a flow therapy device with an un-sealed patient interface. The device may include a blower and may generate a flow of air at a controlled flow rate. The apparatus may include a controller. The generation may involve computing an estimate of the breathing pattern as a function of a device flow rate signal; a device pressure signal; a device conductance; a patient conductance; and a coupling parameter that characterizes a degree of coupling between the interface and the patients nares. An estimate of an exit pressure representative of a pressure of a flow of air generated by the therapy device just outside an orifice of the unsealed interface may also be computed. An estimate of a flushing flow rate from the estimated exit pressure may also be computed.

Methods and apparatus for monitoring respiratory therapy

Techniques for automated facial measurement are provided. A set of coordinates for a set of landmarks on a face of a user are extracted by processing an image using a machine learning model. An orientation of the face of the user is determined. It is determined that impedance conditions are not present in the images, and a reference distance on the face of the user is estimated based on the image, where the image depicts the user facing towards the imaging sensor. A nose depth of the user is estimated based on a second image based at least in part on the reference distance, where the second image depicts the user facing at an angle relative to the imaging sensor. A facial mask is selected for the user based on the nose depth.

Machine learning to determine facial measurements via captured images

An oxygen concentrator (100) apparatus and a method thereof implement operations control to efficiently release oxygen enriched gas to reduce potential waste. The control methodology may include generating a profile such as a minimum inhalation flow profile of the user. The profile may be based on a size parameter of the user. The method may determine one or more control parameters characterizing a bolus of oxygen enriched gas based on the generated flow profile. The control methodology may then generate a bolus release control signal, such as for a supply valve, according to the determined one or more control parameters. The oxygen concentrator may then, with the control signal, release and deliver a bolus of oxygen enriched gas for a user such as for reducing waste.

Methods and apparatus for treating a respiratory disorder

A CPAP system includes a PAP device () structured to generate a supply of pressurized air, a patient interface () adapted to engage with the patient's face to provide a seal, an air delivery conduit () provided between the PAP device and the patient interface to deliver the supply of pressurized air along a gas delivery path from the PAP device to the patient interface, and a muffler () provided along the gas delivery path downstream of the PAP device.
