An example plug assembly includes: a cone; a seal mounted to the cone; an anchoring ring comprising a plurality of anchoring ring segments disposed in a circular array, wherein a respective receptacle is formed between each two adjacent anchoring ring segments of the plurality of anchoring ring segments; and a support ring that is interposed between the seal and the anchoring ring, wherein the support ring comprises a plurality of support ring segments disposed in a respective circular array, such that each support ring segment partially overlaps two adjacent anchoring ring segments, and wherein each support ring segment of at least a subset of the plurality of support ring segments has a protrusion that is received within the respective receptacle.

An example plug assembly includes: a telescopic cone comprising a sealing cone and an anchoring cone, wherein the sealing cone and the anchoring cone are configured to move together in a distal direction, while the sealing cone is allowed to move relative to the anchoring cone in a proximal direction; a seal mounted to the sealing cone; and an anchoring ring mounted to the anchoring cone and comprising a plurality of segments disposed in a circular array, wherein during deployment of the plug assembly, the telescopic cone is driven in the distal direction, thereby expanding the anchoring ring and the seal, and wherein as the seal is allowed to relax after deployment, the seal pulls the sealing cone away from the anchoring cone, which remains in position relative to the anchoring ring.

A bridge plug assembly includes a tee bushing including a base and a stem, a coned bushing having a conical section and defining a bore that is configured to receive the stem, a molded assembly that is moveable over the conical section from an initial position to a set position, and a seal. The conical section is configured as a wedge such that when the stem is forced into the conical section during a setting process, the molded assembly and the seal move over the conical section from the initial position to the set position and expand radially outward by a wedge action of the conical section against a well casing. The molded assembly includes a slip assembly having a plurality of slip segments, over-molded with an elastomer. All components are made of dissolvable materials so as to reopen the well casing over time to its original inner diameter.

Dissolvable bridge plug assembly

A flow control mechanism includes a housing defining a through bore and a cavity contiguous with the through bore, and a barrier received within the cavity of the housing. The barrier is moveable between a sealing position in which fluid flow through the housing is permitted in one direction through the housing and blocked in an opposite direction, and a non-sealing position in which the flow control mechanism is configured to receive an attachment member. An actuating mechanism returns the barrier to the sealing position when the attachment member separates. The actuating mechanism may be an elastomeric band that is in a non-stretched state when the barrier is in the sealing position and in a stretched state when the barrier is in the non-sealing position. The barrier returns from the non-sealing position to the sealing position by action of torque of the stretched flexible member as the flexible member returns to the non-stretched state.

Captured ball valve mechanism

High strength, degradable ball sealer for temporarily sealing off lower zones in a wellbore from the flow of a fluid injected into the well. The degradable ball sealer may also seal openings formed through slidable packers or sleeves received within a tubing string in the well, from the flow of a fluid injected into the well. The ball sealer includes an aluminum-based alloy matrix containing gallium, with graphitic carbon particulate and salt particulate homogeneously distributed within the aluminum-based alloy matrix.

Degradable ball sealer

High strength, low density ball sealer for sealing openings in oil or gas wells, such as perforations formed through the well casing or openings formed through slidable packers or sleeves received within a tubing string in the well, from the flow of a fluid injected into the well. The ball sealer is formed as having an inner core, and a metal matrix composite layer surrounding the core.

An engine exhaust system comprises duct pieces and a thermally expandable sealing joint for interconnecting their adjoining ends. The sealing joint comprises a tubular body including a first axial end portion, a second axial end portion, and a bridge portion extending therebetween. The first end portion is at least partially positioned within a female recess of the first duct piece and the second end portion is at least partially positioned with a female recess of the second duct piece. The bridge portion can extend across a gap and/or it can be positioned partially within female recesses. Upon thermal activation, the sealing joint radially expands permanently to engage the inner radial surfaces of the duct pieces.

An engine exhaust system comprises duct pieces () and a sealing joint () for interconnecting their adjoining ends. The sealing joint () comprises a one-piece tubular body () including a first axial end portion (), a second axial end portion (), and a bridge portion () extending therebetween. The first end portion () is at least partially positioned within a female recess () of the first duct piece () and the second end portion () is at least partially positioned within a female recess () of the second duct piece (). Depending upon the thermal expansion-contraction conditions in the exhaust system, the bridge portion () can extend across a gap () and/or it can be positioned partially within female recesses () and ().

A seal has first and second spring elements each having first and second surfaces along a bellows cross-section and extending between first and second edges. A spreader is secured to an endplate between the first edges of the first and second elements to capture first edge portions of the first and second elements.
