A water-based fragrance composition comprises at least about 67 wt % water and between about 5 and about 17 wt % of a first organic solvent, wherein the first organic solvent comprises one or more relatively volatile, water soluble, low molecular weight organic compound(s) having a boiling point less than about 100&#xb0; C. The water-based fragrance composition further comprises about 5 wt % or less of at least one fragrance formulation and between about 0 and about 22 wt % of a second organic solvent, wherein the second organic solvent comprises one or more moderately volatile, water soluble organic compound(s) having a boiling point greater than or equal to about 100&#xb0; C. and less than or equal to about 300&#xb0; C.

Water-based fragrance composition, fragrance delivery device, and method of providing a long-lasting scent

An aerosol dispenser assembly is disclosed that includes a container holding a liquid product and a compressed gas propellant for propelling the liquid product from the container. A design methodology for the actuator body and swirl nozzle insert is disclosed for maintaining a small particle size or Sauter Mean Diameter (D[3, 2]) of less than 48 &#x3bc;m at a suitable spray rate (1.5-2 g/s), while utilizing a compressed gas VOC-free propellant for an air freshener product. As obtaining reduced particle size to compete with LPG propellants may result in a reduced spray rate, it is anticipated that one or more nozzles may be designed into the actuator body to maintain a suitable spray rate.

Aerosol dispenser assembly having VOC-free propellant and dispensing mechanism therefor

A composition for solvating one or more active agents in an aqueous solution which is suitable for dispensing as a compressed gas aerosol composition is disclosed. The composition includes at least one surfactant, at least one active agent (such as a fragrance or an insecticide), and a compressed gas propellant. The at least one surfactant is preferably present in an amount from about 0.1 wt. % to about 3 wt. %. The at least one active agent is preferably present in an amount from about 0.1 wt. % to about 2 wt. %. The compressed gas propellant is preferably present in an amount from about 0.1 wt. % to about 1 wt. %. The total surfactant weight to active agent weight ratio for the composition is preferably about 1:3 to 5:1. The composition uses a reduced amount of surfactant and active agent thereby allowing for a more efficient active agent loading and a reduced stickiness or tackiness on surfaces contacted during use.

Compositions containing a solvated active agent suitable for dispensing as a compressed gas aerosol

A protective sealant composition that is useful for sealing a colorant to a substrate, such as carpet. The protective sealant composition is formulated such that, upon drying, the composition forms a topcoat on the surface of the substrate, with the topcoat having a hard component and a soft component. The composition provides a durable protection against color fading and resoiling to the applied colorant, as well as to the rest of the surface of the substrate. The composition also provides wear resistance to the carpet by reducing the amount that the widths of the top ends of carpet fibers increase when subjected to wearing.

An air treating composition for eliminating airborne malodors and/or sanitizing air in combination with a spray valve and actuator and spray performance parameters providing maximum dispersion of the composition is disclosed. The particles of the composition are small so that the active component is dispersed into air as a fine dispersion to provide more contact with malodors and to provide quick absorption of malodors and/or bacteria. The particle size of the composition is controlled through the valve and actuator dimensions, as well as the formulation requirements of the composition. The air treating composition includes water, a low molecular weight polyol, and a propellant. The composition may also include one or more adjuvants such as an emulsifier, a co-solvent, a fragrance, a corrosion inhibitor, a pH adjusting agent and the like.

Composition and aerosol spray dispenser for eliminating odors in air

Certain surfactants suitable for use alone to dissolve a water-insoluble component in compositions is described for providing VOC-free compressed gas aerosol compositions. The compositions include water-insoluble component(s), a surfactant and water. The water-insoluble component(s) can be active agent(s), such as fragrance(s) and/or an insecticide(s). The surfactant is present as a single surfactant which, in the absence of a solvent, dissolves or disperses the water-insoluble component(s) and provides a homogenous blend in water which provides a stable compressed gas emulsion. The surfactant is an anionic surfactant or a nonionic surfactant, in particular nonionic alkylpolyglycosides; nonionic cocoglucoside; nonionic alkylene oxide extended chain alkylpolyglycosides; anionic sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES), nonionic C-Coxoalcohol ethoxylate with 8 ethylene oxides (EO), nonionic C-Csecondary alcohol ethoxylate with 7EO or 12EO, polyethylene glycol (PEG) hydrogenated castor oil wherein the PEG is PEG-60 or PEG-40, polyglyceryl-10 laurate and polyglyceryl-6 caprylate.

Compressed gas aerosol compositions

Compositions, methods, apparatuses, kits, and combinations are described for permanently or temporarily re-designing, decorating, and/or re-coloring a surface. The compositions useful in the present disclosure include a d&#xe9;cor product formulated to be applied and affixed to a surface. If desired, the d&#xe9;cor product may be substantially removed from the surface before being affixed thereto. If a user desires to remove the d&#xe9;cor product, the d&#xe9;cor product may be removed by, for example, vacuuming, wet extraction, chemical application, and the like. If the user desires to affix the d&#xe9;cor product to the surface in a permanent or semi-permanent manner, the d&#xe9;cor product may be affixed by applying energy thereto in the form of, for example, heat, pressure, emitted waves, an emitted electrical field, a magnetic field, and/or a chemical. The d&#xe9;cor product may also be part of a kit or in conjunction with a design device, such as a stencil, to control the application of the d&#xe9;cor product to a surface.

A composition for treating carpets. The composition seals and protects a portion of a polyester carpet to which a colorant is applied such that, after the polyester carpet is walked on by 30,000 steps and vacuumed by 600 strokes, the &#x394;E(l:c=2:1) of the portion of the polyester carpet to which the colorant is applied is less than about 6.0. The &#x394;Cof the portion of the polyester carpet to which the colorant is applied is less than about &#x2212;3.0 D. The composition imparts wear resistance to a nylon carpet such that an average width of free ends of carpet fibers that form the nylon carpet increases by less than about 10% when the nylon carpet is subjected to a simulated wear test that includes contacting the carpet fibers to a steel beating bar, covered with nylon, in a drum rotating at thirty-five rotations/minute for seventy-two hours.
