A cutting tool mounting assembly adapted for attachment to a surface of a rotatable driving member of a cutting tool machine, includes: a tool holder having a key shank; a base attached to the surface of the rotatable driving member, the base having a mounting groove for receiving the key shank of the tool holder; a resilient retention structure configured to interact with the base and the tool holder to facilitate a friction fit between the tool holder and the base; and wherein tool holder includes a retention post configured for cooperating with the base for connecting the tool holder to the base. Also included is a dampening element configured between the tool holder and the base for reducing vibration therebetween.

Cutting tool mounting assembly

A wear plate assembly for mounting on a substrate to be protected includes a support plate having a first surface and an opposing second surface and a wear plate having a wear surface and an opposing attachment surface affixed to the first surface of the support plate, wherein the wear surface is a continuous, uninterrupted surface. The assembly also includes a shaft having a base portion attached to the second surface of the support plate, a head portion distal from the base portion and a groove formed between the base portion and the head portion. The assembly also includes a retainer spring adapted to be received in the groove on the shaft, wherein the retainer spring includes a plurality of compressible tabs configured for cooperating with the substrate to releasably attach the wear plate assembly to the substrate.

Wear plate assembly

A cutting tool assembly for mounting in a bore of a holder includes a cutting tool having a head, a shank and a collar therebetween having an axially rearward surface that defines an annular channel adjacent an axially forward end of the shank. The assembly also includes a retainer sleeve substantially surrounding the shank and defining a slot that extends from an axial forward end to an axial rearward end of the retainer sleeve. The retainer sleeve is compressible between an expanded state and a compressed state. The assembly further includes a compression band removably attached to the retainer sleeve. The compression band in a first position is attached to the retainer sleeve and compresses the retainer sleeve to the compressed state and in a second position is not attached to the retainer sleeve and the retainer sleeve is in the expanded state.
