The brewing unit comprises: a support (); a drawer (), presenting at least a seat for a single serving package (C), slidable with respect to the support and movable between a loading position of the single serving package and a brewing position; a dispensing member () to dispense pressurized water to the single serving package. A control lever () is provided to control the movement of the drawer (). A mechanical connection is also provided between the lever and the drawer and between the lever and the dispensing member, so that operation of the lever causes the drawer to move from the loading position to the brewing position and the dispensing member to rest against the single serving package.

Brewing unit for preparing beverages from single service packages and machines comprising said unit

A support for a container for receiving beverages from a spout of a machine for the production of beverages, where the support includes a first resting surface and a second surface with is hingedly attached to the first resting surface for positioning the two surfaces at different heights. In particular, the two resting surfaces are positioned on top of one another in a first position to accommodate a first cup between the second resting surface and the spout. Further, the two resting surfaces are positioned away from one another in a second position to accommodate a second cup between the first resting surface and the spout, where the second cup is taller than the first cup.

A device for clamping fixation elements, which have been inserted into bone, for manipulating fragments of a fractured bone. The device incorporating a hollow body with a cavity having a wall, a clamping body moveable within the cavity between a first position and a second position, and a clamping device operably connected to the clamping body for moving the clamping body between the first position and the second position. The device being sized and configured so that when the clamping body is in the first position a free end of the fixation element(s) may be positioned between the clamping body and the wall of the cavity. Once the fixation element(s) is properly positioned within the cavity, the clamping device may be used to move the clamping body into the cavity, thereby wedging the fixation element(s) between the clamping body and the wall of the cavity. A bone fragment may then be manipulated using the device.

An apparatus for the preparation of hot beverages by brewing a water-extractable particulate substance includes a delivery pump (), water heater (), brewing area () and beverage outlet (). The apparatus comprises a delivery member in the form of a screw shaft () provided with at least one flight () by means of which the particulate substance is delivered into and out of the brewing area () in one and the same direction. An extraction area () is provided downstream of the brewing area () in which the substance is compacted by the screw shaft () and thereby the essence of the substance extracted or the substance is additionally extracted. This is achieved by the pitch of the flights () in the region of the extraction zone () being smaller than in the region of the brewing zone ().

Apparatus and method for the preparation of hot beverages by brewing a water-extractable particulate substance

An assembly for creating milk froth and/or for heating milk is disclosed. It comprises a foaming device and optionally a milk container and a valve assembly. The foaming device is provided with a steam supply channel, an air supply channel, a milk supply channel and a discharge opening. In order to provide for an easy cleaning of the assembly and its microbicity, at least the components and/or cavities coming into contact with milk are provided with a hydrophobic and oleophobic surface consisting of nano-particles which consist partially of silver or a silver compounds.
