A method and a first network node () serving a first cell (A) in a wireless network, for enabling reduction of interference in a second cell (B) caused by transmission of reference signals in the first cell (A). The first network node () transmits () scheduling blocks with said reference signals, using a time offset relative transmission of scheduling blocks in the second cell. A timing advance value is determined () for a wireless device () and the wireless device () instructed () to apply said timing advance value for uplink transmissions. The timing advance value was determined such that uplink symbols transmitted from the wireless device () are aligned with uplink symbols received at a second network node () of the second cell (A).

Method and network node for enabling reduced interference in a wireless network

There is disclosed a method and a network node for handling signals transmitted from one or more wireless devices in a wireless network when Time Division Duplex (TDD) is employed such that two successive uplink subframes of a radio frame are separated by an intermediary time interval. The signals are received during a subframe reserved for uplink transmissions, and a sending time interval with a length of at least a subframe is selected. Then, the received signals are sent to a transport network such that the signals are distributed over the selected sending time interval instead of being sent virtually at the same time as in conventional procedures. Thereby, the signals will be distributed over a longer time when arriving at the transport network which will have time to handle the signals properly such that any loss of packets can be avoided or at least reduced.

Method and network node for handling signals transmitted from wireless devices

The invention relates to a scheduling node and a method at the scheduling node in a wireless communication network of scheduling mobile terminals submitting Scheduling Requests (SRs) in SR resources. The invention further relates to a computer program performing the method according to the present invention, and a computer program product comprising computer readable medium having the computer program embodied therein. A method at a scheduling node in a wireless communication network of scheduling mobile terminals submitting Scheduling Requests (SRs) in SR resources is provided. The method comprises detecting that an SR received from a first mobile terminal in a first SR resource is indicated to interfere with at least a second SR resource, scheduling the first mobile terminal at a first scheduling occasion and awaiting scheduling of a second mobile terminal associated with the second SR resource at least until a second scheduling occasion.

False scheduling request prevention

In a method for downlink link adaptation in a network node in a communication system, the network node serving a cell and active user equipment within the cell, performing the steps of obtaining uplink path gain and downlink SINR for at least a subset of active user equipment in the cell, estimating an initial downlink SINR for new user equipment in the cell, based on an estimated uplink path gain together with a determined statistical measure for the obtained uplink path gain and downlink SINR for the at least a subset of active user equipment in the cell, and utilizing the estimated initial downlink SINR for downlink link adaptation for a subsequent transmission to the new user equipment.

Fast initialization of downlink adaptation

A method performed in a base station includes the base station determining a level of interference in a channel between the base station and the wireless communication device based on a signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) in the channel. The base station determines, in accordance with the determined interference, whether to use a predetermined power level to transmit a message to the wireless communication device. In response to determining to use the predetermined power level, the base station further determines whether the wireless communication device requires downlink signal radio bearer (SRB) assignments. In response to determining that the wireless communication device requires the downlink signal radio bearer assignments, the base station transmits the message to the wireless communication device using a downlink control information (DCI) message format having a same size as a message format used for uplink messages.

Methods and devices for cell edge robustness of PDCCH

There is provided a method and a corresponding arrangement for enabling adaptive detection of Scheduling Requests (SRs). Information about the response to a transmitted grant is used to adjust threshold values relevant for the detection of SRs. By providing an adaptive mechanism for detection of SRs it is possible to reduce the number of grants being scheduled due to a detected signal wrongly interpreted as a SR.
