Systems and methods for cardiac radioablation treatment planning are disclosed. In some examples, a computing device receives an image volume and a dose matrix data. The computing device generates a first mesh of organ substructures for the organ based on substructure contours for the organ. Further, the computing device generates a second mesh of an isodose volume based on the dose matrix data. The computing device displays the first mesh of the organ substructures and the second mesh of the isodose volume within a same scene. In some examples, the computing device samples a plurality of dosage values, determines representative dosage values for each of a plurality of points along surfaces of a dose matrix, and generates an image for display based on the representative dosage values. In some examples, a segmentation model is generated for display based on the representative dosage values.

Methods and apparatus for determining radioablation treatment

Systems and methods for cardiac radioablation treatment planning are disclosed. In some examples, a computing device receives a first signal identifying a first event within a first workspace from a second computing device. The computing device determines a first action to apply to a first image displayed within a second workspace based on the first signal. The computing device generates a second image based on applying the first action to the first image within the second workspace, and displays the second image within the second workspace. In some examples, the first workspace is a radiation oncologist workspace and the second workspace is an electrophysiologist workspace. In some examples, the first workspace is an electrophysiologist oncologist workspace and the second workspace is a radiation oncologist workspace.

For qualitative analysis, the system includes a three-dimensional structure comparison control engine that is configured to convert dataset with three-dimensional structure into three-dimensional surfaces with mesh surface visualization. The control engine is also configured to assign color and translucency value to the three-dimensional surface for the user to do qualitative comparison analysis. For quantitative analysis, the control engine is configured to compute the distance field between two closely-matched datasets.

In one embodiment, a method is provided for intelligent automatic propagation of manual or automatic contouring across linked (e.g., registered) images and image data sets by acquiring one or more images of one or more image data sets; determining the correlation between the images with respect to identified structures; and generating a deformation map that establishes a correspondence for each point in the source image with a point in the target image. Subsequently, the intelligent propagation mechanism applies this deformation map individually to each structure of the source image and propagates the deformed structure to the target image.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods and a mechanism for manipulating images generated by radiotherapy machines used in radiation diagnostic and treatment applications. In one embodiment, a method is provided for intelligent automatic propagation of real-time alterations across graphical structures of an image by mapping the relativity between the structures; determining the correlation between the structures and a manually edited structure; referencing a deformation map that maps a correspondence for each point in the original structure with a point in the edited structure and applying a similar relative change throughout the remaining structures in the image.

In one embodiment of the invention, a method for obtaining a tomogram of an anatomical structure is disclosed. In one step, an anatomical structure is scanned using a scanning source and a scanning detector. Both the scanning source and detector are connected to a gantry. In another step, the speed of the gantry is altered during the scanning process. Additionally or optionally the frame rate of the scan can be modified in such step. In a particular embodiment of the invention, the speed of the gantry is altered in synchronicity with the respiratory signal of a patient. Using such a method, a tomogram of an anatomical structure is obtained.
