A method includes transferring data between a mobile station for communicating over a mobile communications network and a server in the Internet having a connection to the mobile communications network. The transfer of data includes providing at least a portion of a page on the Internet in the form of code, the code including a telephone number of the mobile station as hidden information, receiving the code in the mobile station in a first user message where the first user message is a short message service message, and interpreting the code in the mobile station to cause the mobile station to display information corresponding to the page on the Internet on the mobile station, wherein the information to be displayed on the mobile station does not include the hidden information.

Communication network terminal supporting a plurality of applications

A terminal for a communication network, the terminal being capable of supporting a plurality of applications and communicating user messages. The terminal is configured to receive user messages having data and a header relating to one of the applications and address the data to a respective application according to the header. In an embodiment the user messages are short messages and the data includes characters in the short message.

This invention describes 'plug and play' methodology for configuring a terminal, enabled for handling data-protocol services (e.g. GRPS), for the data-protocol services specific to a service provider so as to be able to connect said terminal to an IP backbone network via a network, which provides said data-protocol services and which is provided by said service provider. The invention further consists of using a well-known access point node (APN) name, and a well-known uniform resource locator (URL) string to access a service provider specific help-portal server of the network to request information for configuring the terminal. A core part of the invention is the fact that the security of the download is ensured by means of a chain of trust that originates with a trusted home location register or the well-known APN name, and is built using a trusted APN, the well-known URL string and a trusted domain name service.

The disclosed invention stores the digital content data on a user device, and classifies the digital content data as either controlled data or non-controlled data. A method and system for revenue sharing between mobile operators and content providers. The content providers, through a data network, provide data services to the end users of the mobile operators. For the data services, the content providers are paid by the mobile operators based on the revenue collected by the mobile operators from the end users using the services. An intermediate proxy is disposed between a mobile operator and the data network to keep track of the data amount transmitted by the content providers and the users and to keep track of the revenue sharing agreements established between that mobile operator and the content providers. Method and system for sharing transmission revenue between mobile operators and content providers

Apparatus, and an associated method for downloading operation parameters to a mobile station by way of a radio link. The operating parameters include, for instance, preferred roaming list, number assignment module, enhanced variable rate coder, IP address, access point setup parameters, and the like, to be used during operation of the mobile station. Values of the operational parameter are input by way of the user interface to a server coupled to the network infrastructure of the communication system in which the mobile station is operable. Internet service in a digital mobile communication network by means of short message service. The short message service center is connected to the Internet network and uses the HTML, HTTP, and TCP/IP Internet network protocols. Short messages are transferred between the service center and mobile stations. The user submits to the service center a short message containing an identifier of a WWW servicer via the Internet network, receives the WWW page and stores it. The relevant part, which maybe identified by a predetermined criterion, common to all subscribers, or based on a criterion received from the mobile station, such as a keyword, is separated from the WWW page and sent to the mobile station in a short message. The mobile station processes the received message and displays it to the user.
