A device for determining whether a defect of a component is determinable based on results of predefined diagnostic options, including: storing, in a matrix, parameters which, for each combination of one component defect and one diagnosis result, provide a measure of whether the respective defect is possible for the respective diagnosis result, the matrix rows being assigned to one of the diagnosis results, the matrix columns being assigned to one of the defects; selecting at least two matrix rows which, for a diagnosis result consistent with the defect to be identified, include a parameter greater than a predefined first limiting value; calculating a result vector by the element-wise multiplication of the selected matrix rows; and determining whether the result vector includes at least one element not smaller than a predefined second limiting value, the result vector elements, which are smaller, not being greater than a predefined third limiting value.

Device and method for determining the pinpoint-ability of possible defects of one or multiple component(s)

The invention relates to a method for testing an electrically activated actuator in a fuel delivery device () of an internal combustion engine, wherein the electrical actuator is a controllable valve () that is arranged on the inlet side of a high-pressure pump (). The high-pressure pump () conveys fuel into a fuel store () having a pressure controller (). The fuel store () is connected to at least one injector (). Method and device for diagnosing a fuel delivery system

A method for monitoring a state of a rechargeable battery based on a state value which characterizes the respective state of the rechargeable battery, characterized in that, during at least one time interval, an electrical energy which is output by the rechargeable battery and an electrical energy which is received by the rechargeable battery are detected, and in that an instantaneous state of charge or an instantaneous no-load voltage of the rechargeable battery is detected, wherein the detected electrical energy which is output by the rechargeable battery, the detected electrical energy which is received by the rechargeable battery and the respectively detected instantaneous state of charge or the respectively detected instantaneous no-load voltage of the rechargeable battery are evaluated in order to generate the state value.
