Door latching system

A self-locking bolt assembly () includes a split bolt () and a screw set pin (). The bolt includes a threaded shank (), an axial bore () extending through the shank, the bore () including a threaded bore section (A), a tapered end section (C), and a bore midsection (B) between the threaded bore section and the tapered end section. The screw set pin () includes a screw section (B) having threads for engaging the threaded bore section (A) and a pin shaft () having a tapered end section (A) for engaging the tapered end section (C) of the bore (), the pin shaft () having a proximal end attached to the screw section (B). The pin shaft () is sufficiently long to ensure that the screw set pin () further into the bore () without galling threads of the screw section (B). The tapered end section (A) of the pin shaft has a taper angle (&#x3b1;) that is less than a taper angle (&#x3b2;) of the tapered end section (C) of the bore () to allow a narrowed end portion of the tapered end section (A) of the pin shaft () to engage a narrowed end portion of the tapered end section (C) of the bore ().

Split lock screw fastener assembly and method

A trailer including an inner frame that is made of metal, an outer shell that is made of a non-metal and that at least partially surrounds the inner frame, and at least one wheel rotatably secured to the inner frame. In a preferred embodiment, the outer shell is made of a plastic. The inner frame includes a lower frame portion with which the at least one wheel is rotatably secured, and an upper frame portion that supports at least a portion of the weight of the outer shell. Preferably, the upper frame portion includes a middle support member that extends upwardly from the lower frame portion, and a first bar assembly that is hingedly connected to the middle support member. In another embodiment, a second bar assembly is hingedly connected to the middle support member.
