Blind coverage for wireless devices is enhanced varying one or more transmission characteristics of a repeated transmission sent or received by apparatuses, where the repeated transmission includes, for example a Physical Downlink Shared CHannel (PDSCH) and/or a Physical Uplink Shared CHannel (PUSCH) transmissions. Varied characteristics may include a start time for each repetition, a duration for each repetition, a start frequency for each repetition, a bandwidth of each repetition, a number of repetitions for each subframe, and/or a number of repetitions for each slot. Repetitions may be within a Bandwidth Part (BWP) or span multiple BWPs. Repetitions may vary from one to another in start time, start frequency, duration, bandwidth, and slot and subframe patterns. Higher level signalling, such as Radio Resource Control (RRC) signalling may be used to control the inclusion or omission of a DeModulation Reference Signal (DMRS) in repeated transmissions.

Coverage enhancement for reduced capability new radio devices

An apparatus in accordance with the present application may monitor a sidelink (SL) connection. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that receives signals in a protocol stack to perform SL-radio link monitoring (SL-RLM), and determines, according to the signals, whether a SL-radio link failure (RLF) has occurred. The signals may include hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. In a case that the signals include a HARQ-NACK, the processing circuitry determines that the SL-RLF has occurred. The processing circuitry further receives configuration information related to the SL-RLM for the signals, the configuration information including configurations for measurement quantities of the signals and a condition for declaring SL-RLF, configures, according to the configuration information, lower layers of the protocol stack for the SL-RLM for the signals, and performs SL-RLM measurements of the measurement quantities.

The circuitry is configured to perform beam failure detection on a monitored cell; detect a beam failure on the monitored cell; determine at least one new set of candidate beam reference signals (CB-RSs) from at least one set of CB-RS configured for the device; determine if any CB-RS in the at least one new set of CB-RSs meets a criterion, and in a case that any CB-RS in the at least one new set of CB-RSs meets the criterion: select a beam corresponding to a CB-RS in the new set that meets the criterion as the new beam, and indicate the selected new beam to the network; and in a case that no CB-RS in the new set of CB-RS meets a criterion, indicate to the network that no CB-RS in the new set meets the criterion.

Multicast/Broadcast Service (MBS) for user equipments (UE) in Radio Resource Control (RRC) idle/inactive modes via signally of MBS frequency ranges and/or switching between frequency ranges as required. Bandwidth Part (BWP) operation for MBS in RRC_IDLE and RRC_INACTIVE states may be implemented using a dedicated MBS BWP or by sharing a frequency range with other operations. An MBS frequency range may be wider or narrower than an initial BWP used by a UE, for example. MBS frequency range configure may be achieved in a number of ways, such as via Control Resource Set (CORESET), search space, and/or PDCCH monitoring occasions pattern settings for MBS in RRC idle/inactive. Methods and apparatuses are described herein for Intra-UE Prioritization in uplink (UL) transmissions. In an example, an apparatus may receive first information indicating a first uplink grant associated with a first transmission and second information indicating a second uplink grant associated with a second transmission. The apparatus may determine, based on the first information and the second information, that the first transmission and the second transmission overlap at least partially in time. The apparatus may determine a first priority associated with the first transmission and a second priority associated with the second transmission. The apparatus may then cause, based at least in part on the first priority and the second priority, at least one of: prioritization of one transmission over another transmission, or preemption of the first transmission by the second transmission.

A system and method for random access configurations are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless communication device, includes: obtaining measurement results by performing measurements on a plurality of signals transmitted by a wireless communication node; determining, based on at least one parameter for communication with a communication node: a plurality of random access channel (RACH) groups, and an association between at least one RACH group of the plurality of RACH groups and the measurement results, wherein the at least one parameter indicates a number of preambles in the at least one RACH group; determining a matching RACH group from the plurality of RACH groups based on the measurement results; and sending a message using at least one resource of the matching RACH group to the communication node.
