Regulation can be accomplished through networked femtocell access points and distributed antenna systems. Control of wireless resources is accomplished through selective jamming within the confined area; selective jamming can be updated based on performance metrics of telecommunication service. Configurable lists that authorize mobile device(s) to consume wireless service within the confined area control access to wireless resources. Access can be granted, or denied statically or dynamically. Monitoring of wireless activity within the confined area includes tracking and recordation of signaling or traffic activity. The monitoring of signaling activity can enable location of a source of wireless activity, while monitoring of traffic can lead to identification of a user thereof.

Systems and methods are provided to monitor and control peripheral devices at a remote operational site. A management platform configures a site controller deployed at the operational site, wherein configuration specifies collection of data from the peripheral devices connected to the site controller. Conditions that monitor device status and specify device alarms triggers also can be configured. Commands, which can be part of a script, remotely control peripheral devices functionally coupled to the site controller. Collected data is conveyed through a wired or wireless link to management component, which stores the data for analysis and report generation, and can supply the data to an authorized terminal. Data and reports can be conveyed to one or more systems and mass storage functionally connected to the management component. Analysis includes data trend generation. Reports include features of observed and predicted data, and alarm summaries.

Network operation management

System(s) and method(s) are provided to evaluate uplink or downlink block error rate (BLER) performance in a femto cell network. Data on uplink or downlink communication of data blocks for a set of femto access points (APs) is aggregated, wherein the selected is a fraction of a larger set of provisioned femto access points. The set of femto APs can be selected based at least in part on various criteria which can ensure that operation of the selected set of femto APs is a statistically meaningful representation of operation of the larger set of femto APs. Composite alarm thresholds facilitate triggering alarm(s) when a predetermined portion of the aggregated data reveal a BLER failure condition. Composite thresholds can be generated through analysis of aggregated uplink/downlink (UL/DL) BLER data for a set of femto APs.

Efficient block error rate evaluation in a femto cell network

System(s) and method(s) are provided to monitor operation quality of a femto cell network. Operational data received from deployed femto cell access points are aggregated and monitored. Performance rules and associated operational quality indicators (OQIs) facilitate establishing a standard or desired quality of operation. Performance rule(s) comprises weight(s), sampling test(s), and alarm threshold(s) which can be established by a network operator. Collected data on telecommunication performance metrics can be analyzed to identify or calibrate a standard of operation, which facilitates generating performance rule(s). Weight(s) facilitates reducing the scope of operation data that is effectively monitored. OQIs can assess at least one of service quality, capacity, mobility, or provisioning in a femto cell network. Monitoring operational data generates actionable information for the femto cell network. Alarm(s) are generated when one or more OQIs adopt values below associated alarm thresholds. Alarm(s) facilitate prevention of service degradation of the femto cell network.
