An adapter for coupling an all terrain attachment to a folding wheelchair. A crossbar includes a clamp at each end thereof for coupling between the side frames of the folding wheelchair. An extension bar is coupled at one end to the crossbar and at the other end to the all terrain attachment.

Systems and methods are described herein for enabling a burst mode in a printing device to accelerate a first page out time for a print job. A warm up period typically allowed in a laser printer is used to heat up a fuser to an optimum temperature. When certain printing conditions exist, burst mode enables the printer to omit the warm up period and operate with the fuser at a lower temperature. The lower temperature is acceptable for most printing conditions without degrading print quality. If the print conditions indicate the warm up period is desirable, then burst mode is not enabled. Print conditions include temperature, humidity, print job length, print job coverage, print job media size, simplex/duplex mode, and the like.

A cartridge for a printing device includes first and second portions coupled to one another and capable of moving relative to each other, one or more rollers situated at the first portion, a photoconductor situated at the second portion, and a lock mechanism. The rollers are in contact with the photoconductor in a first position of the first and the second portions. The lock mechanism maintains the first and the second portions in a second position in which the rollers are separated from the photoconductor.

A method, a computer readable medium and an apparatus for modifying a printing process in response to an environmental condition received via a network. In the method, the environmental condition is received via the network and the printing process is modified in response to the environmental condition. In the computer readable medium, software embedded in the medium includes executable code to perform the above mentioned method. In the apparatus, a printing device is configured to apply a colorant to a print medium and a controller is configured to modify the printing device based on the environmental condition received via the network.

A print cartridge according to a particular embodiment of the invention includes a housing and a seal disposed within the housing. The seal includes a longitudinal section having a first end and a second end, a first lateral section connected to and extending from the first end of the longitudinal section, and a second lateral section connected to and extending from the second end of the longitudinal section. The longitudinal section, the first lateral section, and the second lateral section are arranged to be generally continuous and to generally prevent toner leakage from the print cartridge.

Estimating toner levels. A method embodiment includes maintaining a running pulse width count, sensing a toner level, and comparing the running pulse width count with an expected pulse width count to estimate a toner level. If the estimated toner level deviates from the sensed toner level, the running pulse width count and the sensed toner level are used to estimate the remaining toner level.

A method and a device for forming an image upon a medium using toner is provided. The device includes a photosensitive drum, a toner chamber having an interior cavity and at least one toner charge applying member between the drum and the chamber. The at least one charge applying member is configured to apply an electrical charge to toner particles within the cavity. The cavity is adjustable, whereby the cavity is adjusted to improve charging of the toner particles.

The present invention is directed to a sealing mechanism for use in a toner cartridge. The sealing mechanism includes a developer roller and a toner plow. The developer roller has an outer cylindrical surface. The toner plow includes a concave contact region configured to mate with the outer cylindrical surface of the developer roller and a toner plow face placed at an acute angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of the developer roller.

The present invention includes a sealing mechanism for use in a cartridge having a roller having an undulant annular channel and a flexible seal having a follower where the follower is configured to engage the undulant annular channel. Rotation of the roller induces a laterally reciprocating motion of the flexible seal with respect to the roller. Another embodiment of the present invention includes a method of reducing toner leakage in a cartridge comprising the steps of engaging a follower of a flexible seal within an undulant annular channel formed in a roller and rotating the roller to induce a laterally reciprocating motion in the flexible seal. When toner is applied to the roller in the vicinity of the flexible seal, the laterally reciprocating motion of the flexible seal sweeps toner in a direction away from the undulant annular channel.

The present invention includes a toner cartridge having a developer roller having a cylindrical exterior surface with a tapering ramped channel formed in the surface of at least one end of the developer roller. The tapering ramped channel having a narrow proximal end nearest the at least one end of the developer roller and a wide distal end furthest from the at least one end of the developer roller. The narrow proximal end of the tapering ramped channel extends deeper into the surface of the developer roller than the wide distal end. The tapering ramped channel functions to propel toner particles or other fluid accumulating against an end seal away from the seal, toward a central portion of the developer roller.
