A method and system for promoting the union of a bone fracture and/or fusion of bones across a joint space at a target region of a subject which may be accomplished by: inserting a surgical implant device at the target region; providing a guide member in the surgical implant device bore; sealing the surgical implant device bore distal opening and/or the surgical implant device bore proximal opening with the guide member; and positioning the guide member relative to the surgical implant device to provide for the guide member to be partially absent from the surgical implant device bore to allow the biomaterial and/or biologically active agents to extrude or diffuse from the activated apertures to the target region of the subject.

Bone fixation system for promoting the union of a bone fracture and fusion of bones across a joint space and related methods thereof

A surgical device for retracting tissue of a subject while offering lighting and suction means integrated into the same device. This device is useful in many different surgical procedures, including those requiring precise tissue retraction in small openings of a subject, such as facial orbital fracture repair.

Illuminated suction retractor device

The fluid transport apparatus and related method for withdrawing fluid from, or infusing fluid to, a target. The apparatus has a fluid collection chamber that has attached thereto cutting devices. The cutting devices are used to make incisions through the wall or skin of the body or target by inserting the cutting device or devices through the wall of the body for automatically removing blood or other tissue fluids from the skin or other tissues. In the operating mode, the motion of the actuator from the rest position to a displaced position generates a negative pressure in the fluid collection chamber that draws blood or fluid from the target into the collection chamber.
