Methods, devices, and systems for indoor mapping are described herein. The methods include providing an indoor map containing a current location of a user device, the indoor map having a containing exterior space, a contained interior space within the containing exterior space, and a linkage, the linkage having a coordinate transformation to project coordinates of the interior space onto coordinates of the exterior space. The methods also include receiving a point of interest, determining a path from the current location to the point of interest, the current location and the point of interest being in walkable areas, the path including a transition between the interior space and the exterior space, and providing instructions to navigate along the path, the coordinates of the interior space and the coordinates of the exterior space are referenced by either the instructions prior to the transition and the instructions after the transition.

Space graph systems and methods for indoor mapping

A computer-readable storage medium encoded with a data structure for describing a map of a facility having venue elements is provided. Each venue element has at least one map, structural metadata and a plurality of walkable areas. A method of providing navigation instructions is also provided. The method includes providing a facility map, determining a destination on the facility map, selecting a path type, determining a target route between a current location and the destination, the target route being associated with the path type, and determining a navigation instruction along the target route.

Systems and methods for indoor mapping

A system and method for generating a three-dimensional (3D) map of a facility is provided. The system has at least one processor and a memory having stored thereon instructions that, upon execution by the at least one processor, cause the system to perform functions comprising: receiving a two-dimensional (2D) map of the facility; converting or importing the 2D map to a base map; generating or editing polygons on the base map, each polygon representative of a facility unit in the base map; generating one or more perspectives at one or more points on the base map to generate the 3D map.

Systems and methods for generating a three-dimensional map

Systems and methods for positioning and orienting a virtual camera relative to an electronic map are disclosed. The system includes a communication network, a wayfinding server, and one or more user devices. The wayfinding server includes a wayfinding storage unit for storing electronic maps. The wayfinding processor is configured for providing an electronic map to the user devices. Each user device includes a user processor operatively coupled to a user memory and is configured for: receiving the electronic map; determining a set of target objects within the electronic map; determining a desired orientation of the virtual camera; generating a point cloud collection; generating a rotation matrix; generating an oriented point cloud; generating a three-dimensional bounding shape; calculating a desired position and orientation for the virtual camera; and providing the electronic map having a view from the virtual camera at the desired position and orientation for display.
