LiDAR ranging devices include an optical transmitter, and an optical receiver assembly. There is one LiDAR, and there can be more LiDARs each covering a field of sensing. The LiDAR devices are mounted within a building on a support structure in spaced relationship from each other. The fields of sensing from each LiDAR collectively provide an enhanced field of sensing of an area in the building. Each LiDAR and its base are tuned to sense human traffic. A base collects sensed data from each LiDAR such that tracking information and movement of human traffic over the enhanced area is received by the base. The fields of sensing of each LiDAR can overlap, and an analytic program stitches the sensed data from each LiDAR to obtain a stitched map of sensed data over the enhanced area. Barriers to line of site between humans to be sensed and LiDAR devices are minimized by the LiDARs.

LiDAR sensing system

A facility includes a location node having a transceiver of wireless signals. It communicates with a central hub and mobile devices in the facility. The nodes are located in a specific location in the facility, and provide data about the movement of the entities in the facility relative to the location. Includes at least one of entry into the location, departure from the location, amount of time spent in the vicinity of the location; and the data being transmitted to the operator in at least one of real time or being for storage and analysis at a later time for use by the operator. There can be a series of location nodes in the facility. The nodes provide data about the movement of the entities in the facility, such data including the travel path of the entities in the facility.

Controlling queuing in a defined location

A method to define a three-dimensional geographical zone that is utilized with a movable entity having at least one attached transponder is disclosed. The method comprises allowing a user to enter at least one waypoint, and loading at least one waypoint on at least one transponder. In one or more embodiments, a waypoint is defined by a geographical coordinate and a radius. The geographical coordinate is represented by a latitude value, a longitude value, and an elevation value. And, the radius is represented by a distance magnitude. In some embodiments, the method further comprises regulating the movable entity by monitoring, controlling, and/or visualizing the movement, non-movement, or position of the movable entity. The transponder determines whether the transponder is located inside the three-dimensional geographical zone by obtaining global positioning coordinates, and calculating whether or not the global positioning coordinates are located inside at least one waypoint.

Configuring and using multi-dimensional zones

A system and method for precisely locating a mobile device at a precise geographical distance and messaging to communication devices carried by persons in specific areas is disclosed. The method utilizes at least two elements, a mobile device and at least one location tag. When activated, the mobile device will interact with all of the location tags in range and determine the location tag most practically near. The mobile device will then download detailed local information from the location tag most practically near. The messaging system may be used to selectively send messages to communication devices known to be within range of location transmitters or tags in a predetermined area.

Method and system for providing area specific messaging

A method to wirelessly control an entity having an attached transponder is disclosed. A geographical zone is defined. The geographical zone can be defined by allowing a user to define and load to a transponder a plurality of waypoints, each waypoint defined by a geographical coordinate and a radius originating from the geographical coordinate. The geographical zone can also be defined by selecting a plurality of coordinates that are loaded to a transponder and mapped on a pixilated image. The microprocessor in the transponder is programmed to determine the occurrence of an event associated with the status of the entity in relation to the geographical zone. Finally, the microprocessor is configured to execute a configurable operation if the event occurs.

Method and system to control movable entities

A multi-dimensional, such as a three-dimensional, map is created using nodes in communication with each other. The nodes communicate with each other wirelessly via radio frequency (RF) using Bluetooth&#x2122; protocol. Detailed location information from the location nodes is downloaded. A mesh network of nodes is in communication with at least one base station and, in turn, is in communication with at least one control center. A mobile device associated with a user located in a specific area of a geographical location is in communication with a control center to create a multi-dimensional map.

Mapping in a multi-dimensional space

A method and system of selectively communicating with one or more devices within pre-defined geographical zones is disclosed. A plurality of geographical zones is defined, each zone being defined by latitude and longitude attributes. A plurality of devices is associated with each geographical zone with which a portable device can communicate, the portable device having data representative of the plurality of geographical zones. The portable device also has a ground positioning unit receiver to obtain geographical coordinates of the portable device. If the portable device determines that its location is within one of the plurality of geographical zones, the portable device communicates with the devices in associated with the geographical zone.

Method and system to monitor and control devices utilizing wireless media

Information from location nodes is downloaded to a control center. A mobile device associated with a user located in a specific area at a geographical location is in communication at least one node, which is, in turn, in communication with at least one control center. The nodes communicate with each other wirelessly via radio frequency (RF) using Bluetooth&#x2122; protocol. A messaging system is used to send specific messages to mobile devices, according to the profiles of the users of the mobile devices and their location relative to the nodes. Data mining and commercial communications are possible for users associated with mobile devices in particular locations.

Messaging in a multi-dimensional space

A geographical zone, which can be multi-dimensional, such as in three dimensions, can be utilized to regulate the location of a movable user within the geographical zone. A mobile device associated with a user located in a specific area of a geographical zone is in communication at least one node, which is, in turn, in communication with at least one control center. Detailed local information from the location nodes is downloaded. The nodes communicate with each other wirelessly via radio frequency (RF) using Bluetooth&#x2122; protocol. Mobile devices interact with location nodes that are in communication range. A messaging system is used to send emergency and security communications to users associated with mobile devices in particular locations.

Emergency control in a multi-dimensional space

A method and system of making an emergency voice call is disclosed. Location data is received from a positioning device. A location area identifier is determined. The location area identifier corresponds to a geographical area encompassing a geographical location being represented by the location data. A voice call destination number is identified. The voice call destination number is associated with the location area identifier. The voice call destination number is utilized in order to communicate with a public safety answering point.

Method and system for initiating and handling an emergency call utilizing geographical zones

A method to wirelessly monitor an entity having an attached transponder is disclosed. A geographical zone is defined. The geographical zone can be defined by allowing a user to define and load to a transponder a plurality of waypoints, each waypoint defined by a geographical coordinate and a radius originating from the geographical coordinate. The geographical zone can also be defined by selecting a plurality of coordinates that are loaded to a transponder and mapped on a pixilated image. The microprocessor in the attached transponder is programmed to determine the occurrence of an event associated with the status of the entity in relation to the geographical zone. The microprocessor in the transponder is also configured to transmit the data related to the occurrence of an event from the attached transponder to a user.

Method and system to monitor movable entities

A method and system of updating location information of a portable computing device is disclosed. Location data is received from a positioning device. A voice link is utilized for communication between the portable computing device and a call center. A dual-tone multi-frequency signal is mapped to a pre-determined range of movement. The dual-tone multi-frequency signal is transmitted to the call center when a longitude measurement in the location data indicates a change in longitude that is within the pre-determined rage of movement. The dual-tone multi-frequency signal is transmitted as an indicator of longitude change of location of the portable computing device. In addition, the dual-tone multi-frequency signal is transmitted to the call center when a latitude measurement in the location data indicates a change in latitude that is within the pre-determined rage of movement. The dual-tone multi-frequency signal is transmitted as an indicator of latitude change of location of the portable computing device.
