A filter device has a filter element () received in a filter housing of at least two interconnectable housing parts (). The filter element () can be fixed to a housing part () in a removable manner by one screw connection (). An additional screw connection () is provided for connecting the housing parts (). To transmit a torque between threaded elements () of the one screw connection () and of the additional screw connection (), the threaded elements are rotatable relative to each other. A coupling device () is added that allows an additional rotational movement of the threaded element () of the additional screw connection () when the threaded element () of the one screw connection () reaches the fixed rotational state.

Filter device with coupling element

A filtering apparatus includes a pot-type filter housing (), a filter element () accommodated in the housing, a holding mechanism () disposed in the filter housing () to removably fix the filter element along its longitudinal axis, and a sealing device () that seals between a lid () of the filter housing () and the filter element (). The holding mechanism () is provided with cooperating holding elements embodied on the interior face of the filter housing () as well as on the filter element (). The filtering apparatus dispenses with the need for O-seals that are known in prior art and extend in a radial direction between the filter element and the filter head as a housing lid because the sealing device () encompasses at least one sealing edge () or sealing surface placed parallel to the longitudinal axis in a radial direction and seals under the effect of the pressure applied it by the holding mechanism (). The invention further relates to a filter element that is to be used in such filtering apparatus.
