A single-channel nerve stimulating device for auditory prosthesis for improving the conversational capacity of a profoundly deaf person is described. The single-channel device of simple construction provides detailed information to the patient's nervous system. The device comprises a microphone designed to pick up a sound signal and electronic processor which converts the sound signal into an electrical signal.

Differential olfactometer comprising two atomizers located on either side of a nasal support and respectively associated with a circuit for supplying olfactory stimuli, a retractable antidiffusion device which hides the atomizers during the intervals between nasal stimulation periods and a breathing detection device associated with an electronic control unit for controlling the hiding of the atomizers, wherein the supply circuit for the atomizers comprises means for permanently supplying the latter.

Differential olfactometer

An equipment is described using n electrode sets implanted in the cochlea at n different locations for allowing the brain to identify n different frequencies. A receiver implant is coupled to the electrode sets through a selector and an external emitter is coupled to a single receiver coil of the implant by means of a single emitter coil. In the emitter the sound information signal is processed for forming n analysis signals of which the frequencies correspond to said n different frequencies and raster signals which are transmitted by modulating a high frequency a.c. signal. Each raster signal comprises at least n pulses of which the durations correspond to the energies to be transmitted to the n electrodes.
