Described herein are technologies pertaining to disambiguating identities/accounts over a plurality of online services. Public data streams pertaining to accounts of different online services are analyzed, and a determination is made that the accounts are owned by a same user. A searchable profile is generated for the user that comprises data that indicates that the user represented by the profile owns the accounts. The profile is claimable by the user such that the user is enabled to customize contents of the profile.

Disambiguating online identities

Concepts and technologies are described herein for providing context-based services. In one embodiment, context-based output is provided. The context-based output can include context-based search results for a query. Contextual information can be used to improve access to real-time, social, and other content by enabling a search engine to better understand and/or to supplement queries based upon the context within which the query is received. The contextual information can include, but are not limited to, searches and content associated with the searcher, one or more locations associated with the searcher, the time of day at which a query is received, the device from which a query is received, an application running at the device from which the query is received, the capabilities of the device from which the query is received, and other variables. The contextual information can be used to manipulate the search query, the search results, the presentation of the search results, and/or the content surrounding the search results such as, for example, advertising, links, graphics, and other content.

Context-based services

Concepts and technologies are described herein for dynamically reranking search results based upon source authority. A search query is received and analyzed. One or more topics are identified in the search query. An authority index is searched to identify authoritative sources for content relating to the identified topic(s). Promoted results corresponding to content generated by the authoritative sources relating to the identified topics are obtained. The promoted results can be presented to an entity requesting the search, or injected into search results. Contribution dimensions associated with the promoted results can be determined, and filters based upon the contribution dimensions can be generated and used by an entity to dynamically manipulate the search results.

Dynamic reranking of search results based upon source authority

Within a social network, users may submit various types of messages, such as personal messages to other users and status messages to be shared with all associated users. While these messages often relate to highly personal information such as opinions and personal emotions, such messages may also comprise one or more facts about a particular topic, such as a report of a weather condition in a particular location at a particular time. These facts may be identified in various messages, and may be stored in a fact store, such that when a user submits a query specifying a topic may receive from the fact store one or more facts that are responsive to the topic of the query. Additionally, user interfaces may be devised and provided to users submitting such messages, e.g., in order to reduce ambiguity and improve the reliable extraction of facts from messages.
