A hand held appliance, such as a hairdryer, includes a body, a fluid flow path extending through the body in an axial direction from a first fluid inlet through which a first fluid flow enters the appliance to a first fluid outlet for emitting the first fluid flow from the appliance, a primary fluid flow path extending from a second fluid inlet through which a primary fluid flow enters the appliance to a second fluid outlet, a section of the primary fluid flow path extending through the body in the axial direction and surrounding the fluid flow path, and a heater located within the section of the primary fluid flow path for heating fluid passing through the primary fluid flow path, and wherein the heater has a length extending in the axial direction.

Hand held appliance

A hand held appliance, such as a hairdryer, includes a body, a duct, a fluid flow path extending through the duct from a first fluid inlet of the appliance to a first fluid outlet of the appliance. A primary fluid flow path extends from a second fluid inlet through which a primary fluid flow enters the appliance to a second fluid outlet. A fan unit is located in the primary fluid flow path for drawing fluid through the second fluid inlet. A filter is located in the primary fluid flow path. Fluid is drawn through the fluid flow path by fluid emitted from the second fluid outlet. A heater is provided in the body and extends at least partially along and around the duct.

A hairdryer including: a handle; a body comprising a duct extending within the body; a fluid flow path extending through the duct from a fluid inlet through which a fluid flow enters the hairdryer to a fluid outlet for emitting the fluid flow from a front end of the body; a primary fluid flow path extending at least partially through the body from a primary fluid inlet through which a primary fluid flow enters the hairdryer to an annular primary fluid outlet at a front end of the body; a fan unit for drawing the primary fluid flow through the primary fluid inlet; and an attachment for adjusting at least one parameter of fluid emitted from the hairdryer, the attachment being attachable to the hairdryer so that the attachment protrudes from the front end of the body, wherein the attachment is configured to inhibit the generation of the fluid flow.

Attachment for a hand held appliance

A hand held appliance comprises a body having an outer wall, a duct extending at least partially along the body within the outer wall, an interior passage extending about the duct for receiving a primary fluid flow, a primary fluid outlet for emitting the primary fluid flow from the body, wherein the primary fluid outlet is defined by the duct and an inner wall of the body. The inner wall may extend from the outer wall towards the duct and may extend radially around the duct. The inner wall may extend from the outer wall towards the primary fluid outlet. At least one spacer may be provided between the inner wall and the duct. The at least one spacer may be a supporting rib. The duct may be formed from two parts, a first part fixed to the inner wall and a second part connected to the first part.

A hand held appliance, such as a hairdryer, includes at least one fluid inlet for admitting fluid into the appliance, at least one fluid outlet for emitting fluid from the appliance, at least one fluid flow path extending through the appliance, a heater, and a fluid chamber at least partially defined by an external wall of the appliance, the chamber being configured to provide a thermally insulating barrier between the heater and the external wall. The fluid flow path comprises two parallel sections.

A dual-purpose fixture for a sink or wash basin, incorporating both a water tap and a hand dryer. The water tap has a spout arranged to project over the basin of the sink, and the hand dryer incorporates two or more hand-dryer nozzles&#x2014;at least one for each of a user's hands. The left-hand nozzle is located on the left-hand side of the spout and the right-hand nozzle is located on the right-hand side of the spout, specifically so that the spout acts as a dividing partition between the two hand-dryer nozzles. This encourages correct usage of the hand-dryer. The fixture may be fitted to a sink or wall-mounted above the sink.

Fixture for a sink

An attachment for a handheld appliance, the attachment having a first end for connection to the appliance and a second end, a first wall extending from the first end towards the second end and defining a fluid flow path through the attachment, a second wall extending from the second end towards the first end about the first wall and defining a second fluid flow path extending between the first wall and the second wall. The first end of the appliance may be substantially circular. The fluid flow path may have a fluid inlet that may be annular at the first end. The fluid inlet may be defined by the first wall and an inner wall extending around and at least partially along the first wall. The inner wall may be substantially equidistant from the first wall around the fluid inlet. A hair care appliance comprises such as attachment.

Attachment for a handheld appliance

A hair care appliance including a body, and a handle having a first end in fluid communication with the body and a second end comprising a primary fluid inlet into the appliance wherein the primary fluid inlet includes a first aperture extending at least partially around the handle and a second aperture extending through the second end of the handle. The handle can include an end wall that is substantially orthogonal to the handle at the second end with the second aperture extending through the end wall. The first aperture may be adjacent the second end. The handle may include a fan unit for drawing fluid into the primary fluid inlet upstream of the primary fluid inlet. The first aperture may include a plurality of apertures extending at least partially around and along the handle. The second aperture may include a plurality of apertures extending through the handle end.

A hair care appliance including, a body, a heater, a PCB and a primary fluid flow path extending from a primary fluid inlet into the appliance to a primary fluid outlet out of the body wherein the PCB and heater are in fluid communication with the primary fluid flow path and the PCB is upstream of the heater. A fan unit may be provided and the fan unit is upstream of the heater and may be upstream or downstream of the PCB. A thermal barrier may be provided between the PCB and the heater. The thermal barrier may be in thermal communication with the PCB and functions as a heat sink for the PCB.

Disclosed is a hair care appliance comprising a body, a fluid flow path extending through the body from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet and a PCB extending about the fluid flow path. The PCB may be annular. The PCB may be isolated from the fluid flow path. The PCB may comprise a first layer and a second layer. The first layer may extend substantially continuously about the fluid flow path and the second layer may extend partially about the fluid flow path. The second layer may be adjacent the first layer and may be downstream of the first layer. The body may comprise a duct and the fluid flow path extends through the duct. The PCB may extend about the duct. The body may comprise a primary fluid flow path extending about the duct which may be in fluid communication with the PCB.

A cleaning appliance of the cylinder type comprises a separating apparatus for separating dirt from a dirt-bearing fluid flow, and a floor-engaging rolling assembly. The separating apparatus comprises a first cyclonic separation unit having a low efficiency cyclone and a second cyclonic separation unit having a plurality of second cyclones. The rolling assembly comprises a main body and a pair of floor-engaging wheels. The main body comprises a recess in which the separating apparatus is received such that when the cleaning appliance is viewed from either side there is no gap between the first cyclonic separation unit and the rolling assembly along at least 50 to 100% of the full length of the low efficiency cyclone.

Cleaning appliance

A cleaning appliance of the cylinder type comprises a separating apparatus for separating dirt from a dirt-bearing fluid flow, and a floor-engaging rolling assembly. The separating apparatus comprises a first cyclonic separation unit having a low efficiency cyclone and a second cyclonic separation unit having a plurality of second cyclones. The rolling assembly comprises a main body and a pair of floor-engaging wheels. The main body comprises a recess in which the separating apparatus is received such that when the cleaning appliance is viewed from either side at least one fifth of the width of the low efficiency cyclone is hidden from view by a portion of the rolling assembly at the point of maximum depth of the recess.
