A system includes an industrial controller comprising a first processor. The first processor is configured to execute a substantially deterministic control process. The first processor is further configured to communicate with a second processor included in a communications interface system and communicatively coupled to the first processor, wherein the first processor is configured to communicate an asynchronous data to the second processor via an industrial communications protocol during the execution of the control process, and the second processor is configured to retrieve external data from an external system based on the asynchronous signal, and to communicate the external data to the control system via an Ethernet-based communications protocol.

Embodiments of the invention are generally directed to systems and methods for converting application code in a turbine control system. According to one embodiment of the invention, a method for converting a turbine control system may be provided for. The method may include providing a first application code format including one or more elements, providing a second application code format including one or more elements, and identifying mappings of the one or more first application code format elements to the one or more second application code format elements. The method may further include retrieving a first control system application code written in the first application code format, and generating application data from the first control system application code based at least in part on the identified mappings. Additionally, the method may include converting the application data to a second control system application code written in the second application code format.

Methods and systems for converting application code in turbine control systems

The invention provides a diagnostic method and system for monitoring controller performance. The diagnostic system includes a tool and a controller. The tool includes a user interface that displays at least one operational status command, such that a user may select the operational status command. A controller has an operation status. The operational status command of the tool queries the operation status of the controller. As a result, the controller generates at least one operational status response. A communications path for transmission of the at least one operational status command from the tool to the controller and the at least one operational status response from the controller to the tool is provided. The user interface displays the operational status response of the controller.

System and method for monitoring controller diagnostics

A target system utilizes a plurality of flexible sheets as a primary projectile arresting structure. Means are provided to hold the sheets spaced apart to form a set of parallel, co-extensive layers, and to suspend the target system from above. With this configuration the layers are capable of halting a projectile through a combination of phenomena, including the transfer of kinetic energy from the projectile as it pushes against the mass of the target itself, causing a backward and forward rocking motion. The layers may be composed of a lightweight material, and the means used to hold the sheets spaced apart may form a box-like structure when brought together, with the sheets of flexible material being foldable for total inclusion therewithin for storage and portability. The box-like structure may further include a separate compartment to house equipment associated with the firing of a projectile, such as a bow and arrows. In the preferred embodiment, each flexible sheet forms a continuous web surrounding upper and lower dowels, thus enabling a user to shift the sheets in relation to one another to misalign previously formed punctures. The webs of sheet material may be manually moveable or, alternatively, a motorized driving means may be employed to move the sheets automatically, including via remote control.
