An amusement park system includes a modular attraction system having a ride vehicle having seats to accommodate passengers, an on-board system integrated with the ride vehicle and having on-board game systems connected via a network. Each on-board game system is configured to provide an augmented reality (AR) experience, or a virtual reality (VR) experience, or both, via a respective visual experience generator device. The AR experience, or the VR experience, or both, is provided within a game shared between the on-board game systems. The on-board game systems are integrated into the ride vehicle, and are connected via the network to one another in a manner that allows for ready removal of all or a portion of one of the on-board game systems without affecting operation of the remaining on-board game systems.

Aspects of the disclosure relate to methods, apparatus, and systems for tracking a presence of a body part via a theremin-based sensor and outputting a usable signal. For example, a tracking system includes a signal processor and a theremin circuit including at least one antenna. The theremin circuit detects a varying position of a body part relative to the at least one antenna and outputs an analog signal to the signal processor having a varying frequency or amplitude based on the varying position of the body part relative to the at least one antenna. The digital processor determines a rate of change of the varying frequency or amplitude of the analog signal, determines at least a velocity of the body part based on the rate of change, and outputs a digital signal corresponding to at least the velocity to a system or device coupled to the theremin-based tracking system.

The controller is configured to receive data indicative of a detected marker, determine a path section at which the inspection vehicle is located based on the detected marker, determine target imagery associated with the path section, receive captured imagery from the sensor, and output a control signal in response to determining a difference between captured imagery received from the sensor and the target imagery is equal to or greater than a threshold value.

A system in accordance with present embodiments includes an amusement park system having one or more hardware components and a controller. The controller includes a memory device having a game layer and a software layer stored thereon. The game layer includes game logic, and the software layer includes a game API communicatively coupled to the game layer, a wrapper API communicatively coupled to the game API, and multiple wrappers communicatively coupled to the wrapper API. The controller further includes a processor configured to execute instructions to cause the processor to receive a signal indicative of a change in the hardware components, and, based on the signal indicative of the change in the hardware components, communicate with the hardware components via a wrapper to receive an input from the hardware components, or drive operation of the hardware components.

A head-mounted display testing system may include a ride motion simulator to simulate a movement of an amusement ride and a head-mounted display mounted on the ride motion simulator that displays a virtual image. The ride motion simulator includes one or more outward facing cameras configured to capture the virtual image and a physical marker when the head-mounted display is on the ride motion simulator.
