The assembly described herein is secured to lawn equipment for adding additional functionality, such as weed eating. The assembly includes a base having at least one base bracket for selectively coupling the assembly to the lawn equipment. Further, a stem is included having a stem bracket coupled to the base, a stem housing extending from the stem bracket, and a shoulder in rotational engagement with the stem housing. For maneuvering the assembly, an arm is pivotally engaged with the shoulder of the stem and pivotally coupled to the arm actuator. The arm may be radially, angularly and translatably repositioned during use.

Lawnmower attachment assembly

A time-of-flight laser distance device includes a laser transmitter, a laser pulse return detector to receive reflected laser pulses, and comparators with respective first and second trip levels. A preliminary distance to a target is based on a linear ramp as a function of lapsed time from laser pulse generation through an effective time period wherein an associated return pulse is detected. Time-of-flight values associated with a leading edge of the return pulse are obtained at each of the first and second trip levels. A time difference is determined between the obtained values, and a correction factor is applied with respect to the preliminary measured distance based on the determined time difference. A dual ADC may be used wherein the leading edge of the return pulse is calculated by measuring a slope associated with the time-of-flight values and extrapolating a slope origin to a zero crossing point.

Circuitry and method for reducing echo walk error in a time-of-flight laser distance device

The present invention is a laser ranging device that incorporates an internal tilt sensor, an internal temperature sensor, and an internal pressure sensor. The tilt sensor is used to measure the target's vertical angle relative to the horizontal reference plane. Digital signal processing circuitry controls the firing of the laser pulse, calculation of time-of-flight range, measurement of the vertical angle of the tilt sensor, measurement of ambient temperature and storage of tilt sensor and temperature sensor calibration data. The digital signal processing circuitry then provides the usertemperaturecorrected ballistic ranging information, includingcorrectedhorizontal range. Additionally, an automatic gain control system minimizes the effects of target to target variance in reflectivity and its associated errors. It is also an object of this invention to electronically minimize errors in the measurement of a vertical angle caused by housing vibration and by temperature variance errors.

Tilt-compensated laser rangefinder

An apparatus and method for an audience scanning laser display projector includes a laser projector capable of generating a laser beam output having a predetermined beam path, scan area and beam wavelength. A beam position sensor is associated with said laser projector. A camera capable of capturing an image of the audience using light of a wavelength other than the beam wavelength, is disposed relative to said laser projector so that the captured image includes the area scanned by the laser beam. A processor is operably connected with said laser projector, said beam position sensor and said camera, said processor generating a table corresponding to the camera image of the audience, and containing software capable of identifying location of faces in the audience image and comparing face locations with beam position so as to signal said laser projector to attenuate the beam when scanning over a face location.

Audience scanning laser display projector and associated methods

An electronic vertical angle sensing and indicating device for use on aiming systems is provided for bow sights and for other aiming sights for projectile launchers. Improved vertical level measurement and display minimizes the left-right drift of a projectile by sensing and indicating to the user when the projectile launcher is tilted slightly prior to release of the projectile. The vertical level indicator is easily viewed within the field of direct or near direct vision and focus of the eye in a reduced profile that does not distract the operator from the task of accurately aiming the projectile is provided. One embodiment of the present invention positions the signal indicators in the far-field of view of the eye, so that all of the signal indicators, the sighting means and the distant target being viewed are simultaneously in focus or near-focus.

Digital vertical level indicator for improving the aim of projectile launching devices

The present invention relates to a portable, hand-held distance-measurement apparatus utilizing a laser range finder. The distance-measurement apparatus executes a number of distance-measurement cycles. In each cycle, a capacitor begins charging at approximately the same time that a light pulse is generated. An analog-to-digital converter generates a digital representation of the capacitor voltage at approximately the same time that a reflected light pulse is received. The lowest and the highest digital values are discarded and the remaining digital values are averaged and scaled to produce a distance measurement. A reflective target may be used at a remote location to reflect the light beam back to the distance-measurement apparatus. The distance-measurement apparatus has several power saving features that facilitate convenient battery operation. The distance-measurement apparatus may also have a view finder.

Hand-held distance-measurement apparatus and system

An aircraft seat frame including a seat back portion, having a pair of side rails secured to a seat foundation portion so as to transfer a load thereto, the seat foundation portion coupled to a seat base portion that is substantially strong so as to resist yielding. The seat base portion includes a pair of base rails having mount segments extending downwardly therefrom for coupling to an underlying support surface, and at least one spar rail secured between the base rails. The base rails also include an upper edge, a lower edge, and an interior base segment, each having a flat, planar configuration, with the upper edge base segment disposed at a top edge of the interior base segment in perpendicular relation thereto and the lower edge base segment disposed at a bottom edge of the interior base segment in perpendicular relation thereto, so that the upper edge, lower edge, and interior base segments are disposed to maximize a resistance of the base rail to vertical bending across a plane of the upper and lower edge base segments, while minimizing an overall weight of the base rails. Further, the base rails and spar rail are structured to be coupled to one another to define a plurality of mount profiles each of which accommodates a particular mounting posture of the seat foundation portion and seat back portion for a particular mount location, without necessitating modification of a configuration of the seat foundation portion.

Aircraft passenger seat frame

An improved, retractable armrest for an aircraft seat having a mount assembly being fixedly secured to a frame of the aircraft seat and a retraction assembly structured to move along a path in a generally vertical plane relative to the mount assembly and the aircraft seat. The retraction assembly includes a generally horizontal support with at least one guide element extending downwardly therefrom to engage a guide member of the mount assembly and guide vertical movement of the retraction assembly between an extended position and a retracted position. The retraction assembly is structured to lock for securely maintaining the retraction assembly in the extended position, while being capable of being released by a gentle yet focused lifting force being applied to the retraction assembly when in the extended position. Further, the retraction assembly is structured such that a slight, momentary upward movement does not cause an accidental release thereof from the extended position, such as might otherwise occur when a passenger manipulates one or more various controls located on the armrest for activating other comfort features on the aircraft seat.

Retractable armrest for an aircraft seat

A recline safety lock assembly to be secured to an aircraft passenger seat of the type including a reclining seat back portion, a seat foundation and at least one recline cylinder structured to permit reclining of the seat back portion. The recline safety lock assembly includes at least one lock plate having an upper mount portion to be secured to a side rail of the seat back portion, and an engagement end having a downwardly depending lip formed therein. Additionally, the assembly includes at least one lock pin having a main shaft with a transverse notch formed therein. The lock pin is rotatably and axially mounted adjacent the engagement end of the lock plate and is rotatable between a disengaged orientation and an engaged orientation. In the engaged orientation the transverse notch is in a generally upwardly angled orientation such that the lock pin engages the downwardly depending lip of the lock plate and rear reclining of the seat back portion relative to the seat foundation portion is prevented. Conversely, the disengaged orientation includes the transverse notch disposed in a generally horizontal orientation so as to permit free passage of the downwardly depending lip of the lock plate therethrough and to permit normal reclining of the seat back portion relative to the seat foundation portion.

Recline safety lock assembly

An aircraft seat frame including a seat back portion, a seat foundation portion, and a seat base portion, the seat back portion having a pair of generally vertically disposed side rails composed of three interconnected segments, a leading and a trailing edge segments of which are perpendicularly disposed on opposing sides of an interior segment, thereby substantially minimizing an overall weight of the side rails and maximizing the side rails resistance to horizontal bending across a plane of the leading and trailing segments. Further, the seat frame includes a load transference member spanning the side rails so as to evenly distribute a load exerted on only a single of the side rails over both side rails and over the corresponding seat side rails to which the seat back side rails are connected. Further, the frame includes a seat base portion having a pair of seat side rails with support members pivotally secured at opposite ends thereof, the support members being fixedly secured to an underlying support surface.

A pad frame is formed of angle irons to which one section of an articulating dual section pad is secured. A head end frame comprising a pair of pipe uprights secured by an angle iron cross base member and a pipe intermediate member is secured to the pad frame by releasable locking pins in the upright position and foldable to a storage condition by removing the pins. A foot end frame comprises a U-shaped member and an angle iron cross base member rotatably secured to the pad frame and secured upright by releasable locking pins. The collapsed head end and foot end frames are rotated parallel to the pad frame and secured to the pad frame by fasteners. A removable brace is releasably secured to and between the head and foot cross base members in the unfolded bench use condition.

Collapsible weight lifter's bench

A support saddle which tethers a pipe, cable, wire, conduit or other elongate article to the support saddle, which, in turn, is fastened to a support surface, said support saddle also having a design such that it is easily and readily employable as an intermediate connecting device used to aid in the bonding of a flat surface to a round surface, or vice-versa. The support saddle can also be used with a complementing removable base so as to controllably alter the distance of the elongate article supported in the saddle from the support surface.
