Systems, methods, and devices of the various aspects enable detecting a malfunction caused by radio frequency (RF) interference. A computing device processor may identify a location of the computing device based on a plurality of real-time data inputs received by the computing device. The processor may characterize an RF environment of the computing device based on the identified location and the plurality of real-time data inputs. The processor may determine at least one RF emissions threshold based on the characterization of the RF environment. The processor may compare the characterization of the RF environment to the at least one RF emissions threshold, and may perform an action in response to determining that the characterization of the RF environment exceeds the at least one RF emissions threshold.

On-device behavioral analysis to detect malfunction due to RF interference

A method and/or apparatus are provided for protecting control information during broadcasts in a system where primary and second mobile broadcast control messages (PMBCM and SMBCM) are utilized. In order to protect the SMBCM, a first hash information instance is computed based on hashes for each a plurality of control data blocks for the SMBCM. The first hash information instance is appended to the PMBCM. Error-correcting code words are generated for the plurality of hashes for the plurality of control data blocks for the SMBCM. These error-correcting code words are appended to the control data blocks of the SMBCM. A receiver uses the first hash instance information in the PMBCM to determine if any control data blocks of the SMBCM are corrupt. If so, the error-correcting code words may be used to reconstruct the corrupted hash(es) for the control data block(s) in order to authenticate the remaining control data blocks.

Systems and methods for protecting a multi-part broadcast control message

In an embodiment, a server determines to update at least one group session key (GSK) parameter for a given multicast group, the at least one GSK parameter configured to permit encryption, decryption and/or authentication of multicast messaging exchanged between members of the given multicast group during a multicast communication session. The server sends a notification to a plurality of multicast group members of the given multicast group that an update of the at least one GSK parameter for the given multicast group is available. At least one of the multicast group members receives the notification and sends a provisioning request to retrieve the updated at least one GSK parameter, the provisioning request including information specific to the given multicast group member. The server generates and encrypts the updated at least one GSK parameter and sends the encrypted at least one GSK parameter to the at least one multicast group member.
