A label assembly including a face sheet, a back sheet, and a layer of an adhesive positioned between the face sheet and the back sheet. A separation line divides the label assembly into at least two portions. The separation line is formed by a first tearable line of separation extending across the back sheet and a second tearable line of separation extending across the face sheet. The first tearable line of separation is offset with respect to the second tearable line of separation, and at least one of the first and second tearable lines of separation includes a non-linear portion directed toward and/or an angled portion extending at an angle to an other of the at least one of the first and second tearable lines of separation.

Method for separating label assembly

A label assembly that includes a face sheet with at least one label shape defined by one or more tearable lines of separation, a back sheet adjacent to the face sheet, and an adhesive material disposed between the face sheet and the back sheet. The back sheet has a removable panel disposed over the label shape adhesive material and a registration tab aligned with the label shape. The registration tab includes a foldable portion that when folded provides rigidity when the tab is used as a supporting leg to place the label assembly over an object during labeling.

Label assembly for applying a label to an object

A label assembly that includes a face sheet with at least one label shape defined by one or more tearable lines of separation, a back sheet adjacent to the face sheet, and an adhesive material disposed between the face sheet and the back sheet. The back sheet has a multi-portion removable panel disposed over the label shape adhesive material and a registration structure in one of the portions of the removable panel and aligned with an other portion and the label shape. The registration structure is raised or raisable above the back sheet to allow an object for labeling to be positioned against the registration structure for proper alignment with a first portion of the label.

Label assembly for applying a label to and around a portion of an object

A label assembly that includes a face sheet with at least one label shape defined by one or more tearable lines of separation, a back sheet adjacent to the face sheet, and an adhesive material disposed between the face sheet and the back sheet. The back sheet has a removable panel disposed over the label shape adhesive material and a registration tab aligned with the label shape. The registration tab is raised or raisable above the back sheet to allow an object for labeling to be positioned against the registration tab for proper alignment with the label.

A label assembly including a carrier sheet and label sheets, including a first sheet and a second sheet and defining at least one label portion. Label adherable to an object and method for making

A display apparatus that can be positioned within a file cabinet, a file drawer, a hanging file and/or any other suitable file index system. A container is formed by the sheet material. The container has an edge panel forming at least one releasable tab. Each tab can be released or positioned away from an outer surface of the edge panel. A label sheet or label assembly has printable labels and at least one identification label. The identification label has or displays an identifier that corresponds to a particular design parameter of the label sheet. The identification label can be attached to the tab. The container can house one or more label sheets.

Display apparatus for file index

A label assembly that includes a face sheet with at least one label shape defined by one or more tearable lines of separation, a back sheet adjacent to the face sheet, and an adhesive material disposed between the face sheet and the back sheet. The back sheet has a removable panel disposed over the label shape adhesive material and a registration structure aligned with the label shape. An apparatus and method for transferring a label from a label assembly onto a multi-surfaced object includes folding a first portion of the label along a first line of weakness and retaining a remaining portion of the label to the back sheet. An edge of the object is then inserted against the first line of weakness and the first portion of the label is adhered to a first surface of the object. A remaining portion of the label is then removed from the label assembly and adhered to the additional surface of the object resulting in a properly indexed, smooth application of the label to the object.

Apparatus and method for transferring a label portion from a label assembly onto an object

An apparatus for transferring at least one label portion from a label assembly onto an object includes a base and a wall connected to the base. The wall forms opposing guides, which correspond to at least a portion of a periphery of the label assembly, and a stop wall. The opposing guides and the stop wall define an application area on a surface of the base. A first stripping member is connected with respect to a first end portion of the application area and suspended over at least a portion of the application area and a second stripping member is connected with respect to a second end portion of the application area and suspended over at least a portion of the application area. The label assembly is positionable on the base surface so that at least one label portion is positioned between the first stripping member and the second stripping member.

Label assembly and apparatus

A method for transferring a label portion from a label assembly onto an object wherein the label assembly is slid within a gap formed between at least one stripping member and an apparatus base surface. The label portion is positioned within an application area defined on the apparatus base surface with an adhesive side of the label portion exposed. The object is positioned on the apparatus base and with respect to the label portion. The object contacts the adhesive side of the label portion to apply the label portion to the object. The object is then removed from the apparatus, thereby transferring the label portion from the label assembly onto the object.

A method for transferring a label portion from a label assembly onto an object includes sliding the label assembly between a base and an elevated support connected with respect to the base. The label portion is positioned within an application area defined on a surface of the base with an adhesive side of the label portion exposed. An object, such as a compact disc, is released within a chute formed by the support and elevated over the application area. The object contacts the adhesive side of the label portion to apply the label portion to the object. The object is then removed from the apparatus and the label portion is transferred from the label assembly onto the object.

A label assembly including a face sheet having a removable label portion and a layer of adhesive adhered to the face sheet. A back sheet includes a removable first portion generally coextensive with the label portion of the face sheet so that when the first portion is removed from the label assembly, a remaining portion of the back sheet is attached to the label portion of the face sheet.

Label assembly

An apparatus for transferring a label portion from a label assembly onto an object includes a base and an application area defined on a surface of the base. An elevated support is connected with respect to the base surface and forms a chute. The chute is elevated over the application area. The label assembly is slidably positionable on the base surface to position the label portion within the application area and align the label portion with the object retained in the chute.

A label assembly for a CD includes a face sheet having a generally circular label portion removable with respect to a carrier portion of the face sheet and at least one index hole positioned in the face sheet, the at least one index hole mateable with an applicator apparatus.

Indexable label assembly

A label assembly having a face sheet adhered to a back sheet. A separation line includes at least one first tearable line of separation extending across the face sheet and a second tearable line of separation extending across the back sheet. Each first tearable line of separation is offset with respect to the second tearable line of separation. In a method for printing a plurality of portions of the label assembly, the label assembly is routed through a printer and print is applied to a first portion of the label assembly. The first portion is separated from a second portion and the second portion is routed through a printer and print is applied to the second portion of the label assembly.
