A powered tool constructed to drive a fastener into a workpiece includes a nosepiece assembly including a back plate and a front plate combining to define a path for a driver blade, the front plate being pivotally movable relative to the back plate between a closed position, in which the front plate and the back plate are in contact with each other, and an open position. The front plate is movable to an interim deflecting position between the closed position and the open position. A handle portion has an outer surface at least partially defining a grip, and an inner surface at least partially defining a chamber. The handle portion includes a substrate having at least one aperture, and an overmold configured for forming a gripping surface on the outer surface and for extending through the apertures into the chamber for forming a resilient mounting point.

Trim-type fastener driving tool

A battery pack latching or locking mounting system comprises a battery case, a cell pack disposed within the battery case, a battery cap or end closure, and a spacer which is longitudinally interposed between the cell pack and the battery cap or end closure. A first latching element or detent is mounted upon the spacer, and a second latching element or detent is mounted upon the battery cap or end closure. When the battery pack is initially mounted within the tool housing socket, the first latching element or detent of the spacer lockingly engages the single aperture defined within a side wall portion of the tool housing socket so as to lock the battery pack at its first OFF position or state. When the battery pack is moved still further into the tool housing socket in the longitudinal direction so as to be moved to the second ON position or state, the second latching element or detent of the battery cap or end closure engages the first latching element or detent of the spacer and causes the first latching element or detent of the spacer to be depressed radially inwardly so as to be disengaged from the single aperture defined within the side wall portion of the tool housing socket such that the first latching element or detent is able to be accommodated internally within tool housing socket.

Battery pack latching assembly for fastener driving tool

An improved fastener driving tool is provided that is especially adapted to the application of fasteners in trim applications, such as the fastening of wood trim and decorative pieces. The preferred embodiment is a combustion tool, and includes an incrementally adjustable fastener driving depth setting mechanism. The incremental control permits an operator to select from a number of discrete depth settings over a limited range. The preferred tool also includes a distance amplifying fastener lockout. The lockout amplifies a fastener follower movement permitting the blocking of movement of a linkage necessary to tool operation in response to the movement associated with an individual small fastener being dispensed. A trigger and handle of the preferred tool are proximate to the driver blade axis, and the trigger is disposed within an imaginary extension of a fuel canister held within the tool housing. A unique fastener magazine extends into the nosepiece, includes ribs for holding separate pieces of the tool housing together, and includes a solid bottom portion preventing exposure of fasteners held in the tool. An elongated joining element serves to hold the housing pieces together along the front of the tool, and provides a sight permitting an operator to properly align the tool over a workpiece. A battery holder in the tool includes separate locked operational and standby positions. The standby position prevents contact with tool circuits so as to electrically disable the tool.

Fastener driving tool for trim applications

An apparatus for use in dental base regeneration has a support bar having fixing members on ends thereof for fixing the bar to teeth of the mandible or maxilla. A bone section engagement member, such as a fork or spade, is connected to a shaft and is inserted into a bone section resulting from osteotomy. A mechanism connects the support member with the shaft for vertical translation of the shaft. Thus, the bone section can be gradually vertically distracted to allow tissue to regenerate and gradually augment the bone ridge of the maxilla or the mandible.

Distraction apparatus for subapical osteotomy and vertical segment distraction and ridge augmentation

An angled strips of brads with a plurality of cohered brads having a shank with a tip portion. A head portion of at least some of the plurality of brads having a bulge protruding forwardly from the leading side thereof and extending at least partially into the trailing side of the head portion of an adjacent brad. An upper leading side portion of the head portions of the plurality of brads offset rearwardly of the leading side of the shank, whereby interlocking of adjacent head portions of the angled strip of brads is reduced. The rearwardly biased head portion is formed preferably with a rearwardly sloped riser portion of a header punch.

An oral osteodistraction device has first and second sets of engagement members adapted to be attached to at least teeth of respective opposite lateral sides of one of the bones of the jaw. A first expander assembly is attached to the first set of engagement members, the first expander assembly having at least one expandable screw device. A second expander assembly is attached to the second set of tooth engagement members, the second expander assembly also comprises at least one expandable screw device.

Osteodistraction device for use in mandibular distraction osteogenesis

Attachment are used with a mandibular distraction device for use in distracting the mandible subsequent to corticotomy thereof. First and second sets of crowns of the device are adapted to be attached to the bicuspid and molar teeth of respective opposite lateral sides of the mandible. A first pair of expander assemblies are removably or fixedly attachable to the opposite sides of the first set of crowns, and a second pair of expander assemblies are removably or fixedly attachable to the opposite sides of the second set of crowns. Each pair of expander assemblies includes one expandable device and one sliding tube assembly. The attachments include receptor attachments that are provided to be attached to the bicuspid crowns and the molar crowns, and corresponding connector attachments that are provided to be attached to the screw devices and sliding tube assemblies for connection thereof to the crowns.

A mandibular distraction device for use in distracting the mandible subsequent to corticotomy thereof includes first and second sets of crowns adapted to be attached to the bicuspid and molar teeth of respective opposite lateral sides of the mandible. A first pair of expander assemblies are removably or fixedly attachable to the opposite sides of the first set of crowns, and a second pair of expander assemblies are removably or fixedly attachable to the opposite sides of the second set of crowns. Each pair of expander assemblies includes one expandable device and one sliding tube assembly. Receptors are provided to be attached to the bicuspid crowns and the molar crowns, and corresponding connectors are provided to be attached to the screw devices and sliding tube assemblies for connection thereof to the crowns.

Mandibular distration device for use in mandibular distraction

Mandibular distraction osteogenesis can take place by performing corticotomy surgery at two points on opposite sides of the mandible and at the same time attaching an expansible distraction device to the teeth of the mandible on opposite sides of the two points of the corticotomy surgery. The device is then periodically expanded until a desired mandibular length is obtained. The device includes a plurality of bands that are fitted onto the teeth of the mandible and a number of universal expansion screws that are connected to the bands for purposes of distracting the mandible. This device can be assembled with an appropriate appliance assembly tool that precisely positions and aligns the universal expansion screws relative to the bands during assembly thereof.
