A device for holding a vehicle sliding door at full-open position comprises a striker fixed to a vehicle body and a latch rotatably mounted on the sliding door. The latch has a U-shaped groove for engaging with the striker when the sliding door is fully opened. The latch is displaceable between a first position in which the U-shaped groove is disengaged with the striker and second position in which the U-shaped groove is engaged with the striker. A resilient member is disposed at a location between the latch and the sliding door for holding the latch in either one of the first position and the second position by resilient force thereof. The resilient member is always in contact with the latch directly.

A relay assembly for a vehicle sliding door comprises an outer opening lever mounted on a base plate for releasing a latch unit by operation of an outside open handle, a locking lever mounted on the base plate and having an unlocked position and a locked position, an inner opening lever mounted on the base plate for releasing the latch unit by operation of an inside open handle, a child-proof lever mounted on the base plate and having a non-proof position and a proof position, and a ratchet lever mounted on the base plate and coupled to the latch unit through a rod or wire. The locking lever and child-proof lever are pivotally mounted on the base plate by a first shaft, and are provided on opposite sides of the base plate, respectively. The inner opening lever and outer opening lever are pivotally mounted on the base plate by a second shaft parallel to the first shaft, and are provided on opposite sides of the base plate, respectively.

A vehicle door latch device comprises a latch assembly fixed to a vehicle back door and a motorized closure assembly attached to the latch assembly. The latch assembly includes a housing, a latch accommodated in the housing by a latch shaft, and a ratchet accomodated in the housing by a ratchet shaft. The motorized closure assembly has an electric motor and a rotating lever for displacing the latch from a half-latched position to a full-latched position. The latch has a latch arm which substantially extends toward an outer panel of the door and overlaps with a rotating locus of the rotating lever.

A clutch mechanism of a powered sliding device for a vehicle sliding door comprises a swingable member held at a neutral position by means of resilient force of a return spring, an output gear fixed to an output shaft of a motor, first gears rotatably supported to the swingable member and engaged with the output gear, second gears rotatably supported to the swingable member and brought into contact with the first gears with predetermined frictional resistance, respectively, rack members fixed to the base plate and engaged with the second gears, respectively, a wire drum connected to the sliding door through a wire cable, a drum gear integrally rotated with the wire drum. When the first gears and the second gears are rotated by the motor, the swingable member is rotated due to the engagements of the second gears and the rack members against the resilient force of the return spring so that one of the first gears is engaged with the drum gear. When the motor is not energized, the return spring returns the swingable member to the neutral position.

A latch device for a sliding door comprises front and rear latch units attached to front and rear edge portions of the sliding door, respectively, a relay provided within the sliding door for coupling between the latch units and outer and inner open handles of the door, a child-proof mechanism provided on the relay and displaceable between a child-proof condition and a non-child-proof condition, a child-proof lever for displacing the conditions of the child-proof mechanism. The child-proof lever has an operation knob exposed to the outside of the sliding door through an opening formed in a front peripheral plate of the door. A latch device for use with a vehicle trunk lid comprises a base plate and an actuator unit mounted on the base plate. The base plate has a latch adapted to engage with a striker and a ratchet arranged to engage with the latch for maintaining engagement between the latch and the striker. The actuator unit has a motor, an output gear turned by means of the motor, a cam lever connected to the output gear with a lost motion coupling and a connection shaft which rotates together with the cam lever as one body. A power closing door latch device for a motor vehicle comprises a latch engaged with a striker, a motor adapted to rotate when the latch is at a half latch position, an output member operative to rotate about a first shaft by the motor and having a slot extending radially and outwardly from the first shaft, a wire lever rotatably mounted on the first shaft and having an opening extending radially and outwardly from the first shaft, a slide member provided between the lever and the output member and having a first roller engaged with the slot and a second roller being engaged with the opening and being capable of rotating independent of the first roller, a spring for pushing the slide member in a direction in which the first roller is engaged with the slot. The wire lever is operatively connected to the latch, whereby the latch is moved by the lever to a full latch position if the output member is turned while the first roller is engaged with the slot. The device further has a canceling lever operative to slide the slide member against resilience of the spring when turned by operating an outer opening handle of a vehicle door, so as to disengage the first roller from the slot.

A frame assembly of a trunk lid locking device comprises a lower frame of vessel-shaped formed by bending four sides of a base plate about at a right angle, a latch placed in an interior of the lower frame and engaged with a striker to be rotated, a ratchet for preventing the latch from reversely rotating, an upper frame of approximately flat plate-like for closing an upper opening of the lower frame. An engagement hole extending in a left-and-right direction is formed on one of a front side of the upper frame and a top end of the lower frame, and a L-shaped engagement portion is formed on the other of the top end of the lower frame and the front side of the upper frame so as to engage with the engagement hole.
