A mixed-reality golf simulation system includes a ball-tracking sub-system to generate ball-tracking data when a golf ball is hit by a user, a near-eye display, a storage device to store images of a hole of a golf course associated with location coordinates of a plurality of locations along the hole, and a controller. The controller may direct the near-eye display to display a mixed-reality environment from the perspective of a location on the hole based on images associated with the location, receive ball-tracking data including a landing location of a ball hit by the user, alert the user if the landing location is a target pin, and direct the near-eye display to display a mixed-reality environment from the perspective of the landing location based on images associated with the landing location if the landing location is not the target pin.

Mixed-reality golf tracking and simulation

A mixed reality golf simulation and training system that can use, along with a user's existing standard golf equipment, a golf ball launch monitor to track the initial ball positional data, spin and acceleration, and simulate the complete ball path and location or use complete ball tracking data and displays the actual ball path and location. Mixed reality glasses allow the display of ball tracking data over the real world view and/or an immersive display of a simulated world view, depending on the user's head or view position. Golf simulation graphical views can include various options, including simulated or panoramic photographic views of a golf course, simulated graphics and data superimposed over a real world driving range view, or simple ball tracking data superimposed over a real world view at any location.

Mixed reality golf simulation and training system

A mixed-reality sport simulation system includes a projectile-tracking sub-system to generate projectile-tracking data when a projectile is launched by a user, a near-eye display to display mixed-reality virtual objects displayed over physical objects within a field of view of a user representing lines of sight of the user, and a controller. The controller may direct the near-eye display to display a mixed-reality environment including virtual objects within the field of view. The near-eye display may provide an unobstructed real-world view for view vectors below a selected pitch angle and at least a portion of the mixed-reality environment for view vectors above a selected pitch angle. The controller may receive projectile-tracking data in real-time from the projectile-tracking sub-system and may direct the near-eye display to display one or more virtual objects representing a trajectory of the projectile within the mixed-reality environment in real-time based on the projectile-tracking data.

Mixed-reality sports tracking and simulation

A mixed reality sport simulation and training system that can use, along with a user's existing standard sports equipment, a launch monitor to track the initial positional data, spin and acceleration of a sport object, and simulate the complete object path and location or use complete object tracking data and displays the actual object path and location. Mixed reality glasses allow the display of object tracking data over the real world view and/or an immersive display of a simulated world view, depending on the user's head or view position. Sport simulation graphical views can include various options, including simulated or panoramic photographic views of a sports field, court, etc., simulated graphics and data superimposed over a real world view, or simple object tracking data superimposed over a real world view at any location.

Mixed reality sport simulation and training system

A mixed-reality kick simulation system includes a ball-tracking sub-system configured to generate ball tracking data when the ball is kicked by a user, a near-eye display configured to display mixed-reality virtual objects displayed over physical objects within a user field of view, and a controller. The near-eye display may include a user input device and one or more sensors to determine the field of view of the user defining view vectors representing lines of sight of the. The controller may direct the near-eye display to display a mixed-reality environment including virtual objects within at least a portion of the user field of view, receive ball tracking data of a ball kicked by the user in real-time from the ball-tracking sub-system, and direct the near-eye display to display a virtual object representing a trajectory of the ball within the mixed-reality environment in real-time based on the ball-tracking data.

Mixed-reality kick tracking and simulation

A mixed-reality golf simulation system includes a ball-tracking sub-system to generate ball-tracking data when a golf ball is hit by a user, a near-eye display, a storage device to store panoramic images of a hole of a golf course associated with location coordinates of a plurality of locations along the hole, and a controller. The controller may direct the near-eye display to display a mixed-reality environment including a virtual reality scene from the perspective of a first location on the hole over based on images associated with location coordinates of the first location, receive ball-tracking data of a ball hit by the user in real-time, and direct the near-eye display to display the mixed-reality environment including a virtual reality scene from the perspective of a landing location of the ball based on images device associated with location coordinates of the landing location of the ball.

An aerial camera system including a plurality of main reels, a camera interface/safety reel and a stabilized camera head. The camera head is supported from main cables from the main reels with a safety reel cable providing power, data and video communication between the camera head and a main computer system. Each of the main reels, the camera interface/safety reel and the camera head are in communication with the main computer system, which controls the feeding and reeling in of the main cables. Further, the computer system controls the feeding and reeling in of the safety reel cable, which typically only follows the camera head as it moves in three-dimensional space, but may in emergency mode support the weight of the camera head and be used to slowly pull the camera head up and out of the way so that it does not interfere with any activity below the flight area.

Aerial camera system

An aerial camera system including a plurality of main reels, a camera interface/safety reel and a stabilized camera head. The aerial camera system may also include a level wind assembly that keeps the cables wound on the drum of the main reels and/or the safety reel in a controlled and consistent manner. Furthermore, the camera head of the aerial camera system may use a rotating gimbal assembly with computer controlled leveling motors for keeping the camera head level as the gimbal assembly moves.
