A method of installing a flooring structure is disclosed. The method includes providing an acoustic insulating layer over a sub-floor layer. The method also includes providing an underlayment layer over the acoustic insulating layer. The provided underlayment layer includes gypsum concrete having a water-resistant additive. Also disclosed is a flooring structure. The flooring structure includes an acoustic insulating layer over a sub-floor layer. The flooring structure also includes an underlayment layer having a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The underlayment layer includes gypsum concrete having a water-resistant additive. Additionally disclosed is a gypsum concrete flooring underlayment product. The product includes a mixture of alpha calcium sulfate hemihydrate and beta calcium sulfate hemihydrate. The product also includes a silane-based powder intermixed with the mixture of alpha calcium sulfate hemihydrate and beta calcium sulfate hemihydrate.

Water resistant flooring underlayment

A sound control mat includes a waterproof separation layer, an entangled monofilament structure, and a meltblown nonwoven. The sounds control mat provides improved sound control such as improved impact insulation.

Methods for installing underlayment systems include the steps of laying at least one piece of a pre-formed board over at least one first portion surface area of a sub-floor. The pre-formed board is preferably fire-resistant gypsum board, which may also be water- and/or moisture-resistant. A second portion surface area of the sub-floor, which is adjacent to each first portion surface area, is designated to receive a poured underlayment after a tub is installed over the laid at least one piece of pre-formed board. In some instances, a sound mat may be laid over each first portion surface area of the sub-floor, prior to laying the at least one piece of the pre-formed board, and, then, another sound mat may be laid over the second portion surface area of the sub-floor, after laying the at least one piece of pre-formed board and prior to pouring the poured underlayment.

An acoustically insulating product for acoustically insulating a building structure includes a base entangled net material, and an acoustical nonwoven material. The acoustical nonwoven material is on at least one side of the base entangled net material. The acoustical nonwoven material has an increase in impact insulation class of 6 or greater.

A water vapor barrier material for a building structure includes a base entangled net material and a composite nonwoven. The composite nonwoven includes a film layer with a nonwoven layer on each side of the film layer. The film layer has a water vapor transmission rate of less than 10.0 g-MIL/100-in/day at a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit and 90 percent relative humidity.

Water vapor barrier for a concrete flooring system

The invention includes a corrugated decking flooring system. The corrugated decking flooring system can include a corrugated deck having at least two flutes and a trough between the flutes. A sound insulation layer generally conformal with both the flutes and the troughs of the corrugated deck can be provided. An underlayment layer can be provided over the sound insulation layer.
