A speaker assembly includes a basket including an opening having a rim and a flange extending downwardly from the rim, the flange including at least one rib extending circumferentially around an inner surface of the flange. A magnet includes at least one groove extending circumferentially around the magnet. The magnet is insert molded with the basket below the rim such that the at least one groove receives the at least one rib to mechanically couple the magnet to the basket.

A loudspeaker assembly for attachment to an exterior portion of a vehicle. The assembly including a loudspeaker, a base enclosure, and a grille enclosure. The loudspeaker transmits an audio output into an environment that is exterior to the vehicle. The base enclosure receives the loudspeaker and includes a first ramped surface formed on an exterior portion thereof. The grille enclosure includes an integrated loudspeaker grille to cover the loudspeaker. The grille enclosure further includes a second ramped surface positioned on an exterior portion thereof and being positioned directly adjacent to the first ramped surface of the base enclosure when the base enclosure is coupled to the grille enclosure. Each of the first ramped surface and the second ramped surface is non-perpendicular to the integrated loudspeaker grille.

Integrated loudspeaker assembly

In at least one embodiment, a vehicle apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a core, a nose, a first loudspeaker, and a first loudspeaker housing. The core is positioned within a headrest for a seat of a vehicle. The nose attaches to the core and is positioned within the headrest. The first loudspeaker is positioned on the nose for providing an audio signal from the headrest. The first loudspeaker housing receives the first loudspeaker and is positioned on the nose. The first loudspeaker housing extends along a first outer edge of the core to decrease an overall length of the core and the nose along a first axis in the vehicle.

Examples are provided for a speaker system that redirects sound toward a listener, such as an occupant of a vehicle. The speaker system may be integrated into a headrest of a vehicle. An example speaker system includes a transducer adapted to generate sound waves at a first transducer output, a horn coupled to the transducer output and adapted to guide the sound waves from the transducer toward a horn output, and a grill coupled to the horn via a curved joint and adapted to redirect the sound waves from the horn output. The example speaker system may further include a pad ring or bezel positioned between the transducer and the horn.
